Which of the 97-03 year GP's are the most reliable?

You guys all have good advice and good points. I'm thinking I'm gonna fix mine and keep her or get a newer one if I can.
 




everyone talks **** about 97's.... my 97 GT held up wayyyyyy better than my GTP.. i dogged that thing daily in the time i owned it and only had to replace UIM gasket.. sold with over 200k 5 years ago and still see it around town from time to time.
 
k ive killed 3 GTP trans... killed no GT trans.. did many one wheeled burnouts and just drove the car like i stole it and it held up fine the whole time i owned which was a few years. each car is different i guess.. jus sayin the GT i had made me get my GTP. now i regret ever buyin one.
 


i worked at a gm dealership for about 4 years. the 3.1 is crap if you compare it to a 3.8. the 3.1 broke camshafts in the older ones and the intake/head gaskets always had problems. thermostat is in a bad spot same with the fuel injectors. the mpg wasent anything to brag about either.
 
any car will be reliable as long as it is kept maintaned well. true, some parts might fail, but GP is so far the cheapest car to fix in my household. yearwise, its really not that relevant.
 
for what it's worth, i drive the piss out of mine and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. i'm not exactly nice to it either, but i like to think it likes aggressive driving as much as i do lol. tranny was slipping awhile ago but the "unhook the battery and reset the pcm" trick made that go away. i've replaced the front o2 sensor and the maf but other than that it's factory. stock tranny fluid, coolant, gaskets, everything else. i've got no fear to take it anywhere
