which gasket set? and question about rebuilding

ok i recently picked up a 98 GTP engine and i am going to rebuild it to put into my fiero. I am trying ot figure out what engine gasket set i should buy. All the gaskets from ZZP (the cheapest option) or the victor reinz gaskets set from rockauto.com? Also i herd someone say that you can remove that balance shaft? Do you have to run a double roller chain is order to remove that? And then anyone have anything they would recommend i should do to the engine while i am rebuilding it?

Have a machine shop do the bottom end and ensure it's align bored etc and checked. These engines can get picky in the rod and cap area.

On gaskets. I personally have used ZZP, Fel Pro and Victors. ZZP's don't usually fit right and seem "off", like they were made by the cheapest place they could find to make them. The other two.. never had a single issue.

Yeah that was the plan to get everything mchiened and essentially have a brand new engine. And as for the gaskets I work at advance and we sell the felpro kit with the 2nd design intake gaskets so that should covers all the gaskets I need. Other than that anything else anyone can recommendi do? I thought about caming it but I'm unsure how much torque the trans I'm using will take. But it would be worth putting a cam in now while its all torn down and not have to pull it out again....on the idea of a cam will it hurt my mpg? If so by how much are we talking?

Do the cam while the engine is out of the car. It's 1000x easier. Trust me, I've done it both ways multiple times.

Ok then I will probably cam it while I can do it easily. And I'm sure the trans will hold up cuz I'm not an extremely aggressive driver. But, as for mpg does the cam change it?
