Which converter?

I am piecing together my trans build and recently acquired a used ZZP 2750 converter at a good price. The converter is used, but appears to be in great shape and only has 2000 miles on it. Now I am thinking that a 2750 stall might be too much for my street driven gtp. My mods are listed in my sig, and I have no plans of running a larger cam down the road. Should I just stick with the zzp converter or get a rebuilt stock one from TEP and sell the zzp? I also heard that running a used converter is a coin toss and that it would kill my top end a bit due to the higher stall. What should I do?

some how i think my stock stall is more like 1800. thats if you hold the brake and give it gas till the rpm's wont go up any more standing still.

Pretty sure a stock gtp is 2000 and a gt is 3000. Back on subject, so I should be fine with the 2750 for street use?

Ok looks like 2k is a stock GTP and 2500 is stock GT.

The 2000 stall converter is a stock replacement L67 supercharged converter. it is great for a car that will never use drag radials or slicks. Not recommended for NA or turbo applications.
The 2500 is a small step higher than a stock GTP converter. It's excellent for street use and track runs on street cars. We recommend it for all M90 applications. It is the most efficient converter we offer and produces the highest top end HP. You can achieve high 1.6 60's with it.

Well 2750 isn't much higher than 2500 so I'm assuming it will be fine, especially since I'm cammed

The 2750 is a step up from the 2500 and great for guys running slicks at the track, mid 1.6 60's with an M90, or users who want a converter they notice is higher than stock. This is only recommend for people running drag radials or slicks. Mild turbo builds can also use this.

Yeah.. I've already read all that zzp bologna off their site. I was hoping to get some insight from a few members who have run this stall themselves.

Shocked I didn't see this tread earlier. Answer is to go with rebuilt stock converter by Precision and sold by TEP.

ZZP converter has a high failure rate, some have great success, and some don't.

Lower the stall the better IMO. Running higher stall is just plain annoying to me. Added heat, and decreases the feel of stock drive-ability.

This is the exact answer I was looking for, especially from a reputable member. Thank you.
