• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

where is my power gains??????

On the bright side, you've done your mods in the correct order to support your future mods. And for that, I'll give you a pat on the back.
Well, thanks to everyone on here and all the great information, plus one of the best, if not the best 3800 mechanic in houston "Zack". I just want to learn all I can about this format, and mod acordingly, but keep a safe daily driver. I am going to read up more about Cam, and how to safely get down to a smaller pulley, I really didnt want to go the Intercooler route, as it is more expensive and causes more issues... any other ideas would greatly be appreciated. I Really want and love the "neck snapping" feeling, that is my primary goal. Just a boat load of jump off the start.... again, all suggestions are very very welcome.. keep em comming, And before you ask, I have read every thread, every post, every write up on this and other forums..

More Mods will get your TQ back. I know the neck snapping TQ was fun but it makes it a ***** to hook up with. Go to the track and see how much easier it is to hook up and run consistently with headers.

What do you mean by "hookup"? Well, this morning I got in the GTP and hit it kind of hard at about 30-35mph, Yeah, I see what you mean, I am seeing a huge bump from that speed. I guess my expectations were a little off, i expected to see a tremendous jump out of the starting box. that is where i really wanted it.. Well, Back to the drawing board to remedy this issue.. thanks,,,, Chris :th_question1::o

Well, I am thinking about going the route of an intercooler full stack and drop to a 3.1 pulley, and some injectors of some sort that will support these mods.. Will this get me what I am looking for? the Whiplash effect? thanks...

Put in poly mounts...it'll help and save you lots of money.

Like poly dog bone bushings...poly upper square inserts...poly trans mount...and poly enigne mount.

That'll work.

Blue, I was thinking about this for my engine bay. Due to issues with the SD headers moving and hitting the power stearing lines. But i like the idea about doing it everywhere else too.. Can you briefly explain how this will help and save me money. I really appreciate it.. I really want to do these mods the safest way humanly possible due to the fact that this is my daily driver.. thanks alot.

Chris

Hey blue, has anyone ever told you that you can be a bit abrupt? Were you always like this, are you taking meds to assist in the controlling of this issue. Anyways, thanks for the reply.

ps. Can I put seafoam in my supercharger instead of GM SC oil? :)

Abrupt? I don't sugar coat sh1t...sorry if you can't take it? Also...I'd like to see someone run seafoam through their blower...let me know how that turns out for you

Blue,, I got the polymounts, they made all the difference,,, I also got some 1.84 Roller Rockers, S2IC, and dropped to a 3.2 pulley with a tune.. Now I am really happy with this setup, These additions made all the difference. Anything else I should be doing?

Get bigger injectors and keep dropping pulley sizes with a custom tune...other than that...start saving for a Triple Edge Transmission because your getting close to those larger power gains where our transmissions start to take a crap.

explain cammmmmmm.... how does camming get the power gain?

Before you back-paddled away from this statement, you had me worried about evolution.

Cams add power. Where they add it varies, and whether or not they sacrifice torque varies also. "Lift" and "duration" allow more air in, and for longer periods of time. They work.
