Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Where does this go?

I have a 2003 Grand Prix SE with the 3100, about 2 months ago I've had the engine replaced since the first 3.1 died back in 2012. It's been running good as new and I haven't any issues on how its performed. Recently I was doing some cleaning under the hood and saw this

Ive looked at Diagrams and looked at other posts but I cant seem to find where its supposed to go. My mom has a 2004 3.5 Malibu and hers just has a plug. Only problem with the car as of now is that the A/C only blows to the floor and not the normal vents. Some sites have said it might be a Vacuum Leak. Blower and Blower Motor resistor are new and work well, anyone know what this is supposed to be connected to? and if this is related to the A/C issue?

if theres vacuum on the one open line off the manifold there plug the other one into it, the one on the fire wall down the fender makes the vents work.

Yeah there is vacuum, however I tried that then then it was rough idle. The engine would eventually turn off but A/C works so I wasn't sure if its supposed to be connected or not. It also made a small clicking sound when i plugged it in.

Plugged them together before tuning the engine On, worked normal. Engine ran fine and drove well but when id come to a stop the engine shuts off every time. Stopped at the gas station and unplugged them and the engine was back to normal. Would I have to let it get used to it being connected and relearn itself??

very odd. you see any where else the line off the firewall could reach?

maybe the pcv valve is clogged up? and sealing off that line makes it stall?

I looked but there wasn't anywhere else it could possibly go, and when I cover up the plug on the manifold it shuts off. I'll check the PCV valve tomorrow though

Checked on my 2000 3.1 and that elbow does go into that rubber hose. It doesn't have to be that long. Since the car dies with it plugged it would have to be your pvc ( positive crankcase ventilation ). The engine has to have air. Take your pvc out and shake it, it should rattle.

Thanks for telling me! Yeah checked it today and cleaned it up a bit and it stopped shutting off. Now instead when I come to a stop it revs at around 600rpms, so I'll just see how it does or might just buy a new one. At least the A/C works :D

you mean it idles @ 600 in gear? at a stop, and is smooth now? if so sounds good.

just cleaning the pcv will fix it, no need to replace it really.

Yeah it idles @ 600 but its not that smooth. The A/C blows lower at idle and it sounds like it wants shut off but it doesn't, kinda weird IMO and it is cheap so I'll see how it does with a New pcv.

Alright so I'm still stuck on this... The car is fine when you start it up and idles fine. Once in gear and coming to a stop RPM's start jumping all crazy. I've replaced the PCV Valve, IAC valve, New oil, new water pump, radiator hoses, and i think that's it so far. Ever since the Vacuum leak was fixed it started doing this. I noticed when the car is idling you can smell the gas a little. not sure if that's because i don't drive it much. My fuel gauge does not work either, maybe the Fuel pump is bad? Oxygen sensors might be bad? I cant seem to find out what exactly is causing it to do this all of the sudden.

Car is showing two codes, p0405 & P0131. Runs very lean with Vacuum Leak. Engine vibrates like crazy with Vacuum Leak fixed. Hmmmmm :th_question1:

I'll check the wires soon and if all seems ok i guess ill replace them. If I replace them do I disconnect the battery for a while , and then connect it back and check how the car runs with the Vacuum Leak fixed?
