Where do I Get the Wizaired CAI?

best intake i have had so far. works great. i cant scan for intake tempetures but i drove around town the other day romping on it and when i got back to my house i pulled off the lid and the filter and the inside of the box (the walls) were still normal temps (not hot) my buddy, who has an accord with his intake ran over by the headlight, had his car sitting for about 30 mins and his tubbing and filter was still hot.

the wizair is great but i still have plans on makeing it better :D more heat isulation just to be over confident with it and better tubing. and get rid of that damn k&n filter.

i still have mine for sale, all you would need is the pcm tray and the tubing to the throttle body, figure ill save you the over 200$ from ZZP

I've done quite a bit of testing on the Wizaired, including insulating the outside of the box and even installing a puller fan. The box is great the way it is and I found no improvement doing either of those. The new duct is good as well, but doesn't seem to handle repeated reinstallations. If you find a better duct solution please let us know. For the rest of you, install the thing and don't mess with it...too much.:th_biggrin2:

yea thats the issuie i have. multipule istulations. my tubing is phuked. i have to use stock tubing for now :(

but there is no improvements i can make by better insulating it??

The box is made of aluminum for a reason. Aluminum has a high emissivity factor, which means it reflects most of the radiant heat that strikes it. Then, beyond the aluminum, you have actual insulation which takes care of any heat transferred to the aluminum by convection.

If you tried to insulate the outside with anything that didn't have such a high emissivity factor as aluminum, you would probably reduce its performance. Insulating the interior is an idea, but the provided insulation is probably more than enough to keep any absorbed heat from actually reaching the air. You might be able to get another degree or so out of it, but would you really even notice?

good info. thanks. i was gonna try and insulate the outside. guess ill stick to getting some good tubing that can last. and try filling up the hole a little where the tubing goes into the box

I'm using the stock tubing myself mainly because I like the location of the IAT sensor, but secondly because my Wizaired tubing is like yours. I was afraid it may rip and I'd be pulling in unfiltered air.

Wasn't there someone on here who posted a pic of their wizair tubing that they beefed up using PVC pipe or something? It looked real nice. I'm thinking about doing the same, I clean my throttle body once a year and will be nervous taking it on and off.

How can the Wizaired even truly perform that good, the the opening on the air box when the tube goes through is just a flapped opening. Which would suck so much air in,

Save yourself the money and total gut your stock air pox and drop a filter in......

I saw one for the first time on someones car and I cant believe people pay $200+ for it. I more than likey coul;d have made than in shop class in high school

a gutted stock box is NO where near as good as a wizard. the tubing that you get from wizair is about the size of the inlet hole going into the box so its not letting that much heat it.

according to peoples IAT scans the wizair is one of the best if not the best. dought it if you want. i used to. but im a full beliver now
