Where Do I Find the Cause of my P0455 Code?

The gas cap is brand new, and the purge valve's been checked. My mechanic's advice is to just wait it out and see if it starts affecting performance, but I don't want to spend a year looking at the light, and more importantly, missing another more important code because I've gotten used to ignoring the light.

Any ideas?
 


thats the large evap leak code. a smoke test can find it easy.

my car the vent line on the filler neck rotted out. if you look up from under the rear quarter you can see the fat tube the gas goes in, and a smaller line, thats the vent. it leads to the top of the fuel pump.
 
I haven't been able to crawl under the car yet, but in the meantime, the code went out on its own. Does that narrow it down?
