Wheel Upgrade Question

I have an 07 GT that has the split 5 spoke 17" wheels. If I've been reading good info, the stock offset on these is around +52? Is that about right?

yes, the stock offset is +52mm. what kind of 'upgrade' are you looking to do? wider wheels? bigger wheels? bigger tires?

Bigger wheels. Not exactly sure what I want to do though. No bigger than 18 or 19". But also thinking about going with a different 17" to save money for now. My tires only have about 5000 miles on them. Thinking about these:
Bremmer Kraft BR05: Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels
or...
Sport Edition KV5: http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_gar...ion&wheelModel=KV5&wheelFinish=Silver+Painted

Probably go with a silver wheel. Not sure how much I would like chrome with the gray paint. Also planning on getting the SSC lowering springs to get rid of the gap.

20s look good on th 04+..

but 18s will be fine with some 245/45/18.

Those 17" split spokes are really nice wheels. One of the best looking ones next to the GXP..

If you want new rims, I would get some 18s
19s are going to be a little more pricey for tires. So depends on how much you want to spend.

Money is the biggest factor at the moment. I want to make the car my own so it doesn't look like every other gray GT in town without breaking the bank.

same ones i had on my GP for stockers. As far as aftermarket, 18's or 20's look good. Here's a couple of pics that came on one of the car rims sample sites

20's (lowered)

18's (stock height)

I don't like big wheels, but IMO the 04+ body style pulls of 20's very nicely. The problem with 19's is they're not the most common and usually very expensive.

the problem with 19s are the tires. i am the only dumb one who keeps buying that size wheel.

id say in your case if youre looking to not break the bank youre going to want to look for 18s.

Yeah, 18s are much cheaper than the others. But what do you guys think of going with a 17 that would have a better offset to bring the wheels out closer to the fender line? I'd like to not waste my tires.

Trying to decide if I like the black with the gray.

dont get black if you are getting 17s. black minimizes wheels and makes them look smaller. always go bigger with black.

however, i do like those wheels. the KV5's, not so much. they are just really common.

I agree with bio. black rims always appear smaller than they really are.

Ok then, these:

Specs:
Size: 17x8
Offset: 40mm
Bolt Pattern: 5-115

I think that they would still look good as 17s and the 40mm offset with the wider wheel would bring the wheel out. According to 1010tires.com, that would bring the wheel out 31mm or almost an inch and a quarter. Put that with a set of SSC lowering springs, I would think would look pretty good. Thoughts?

Whereabouts in Salina? I'm in KC, would sell you my SSC springs and anti-pogo washers for 220 bucks. Brand new

Also, my thoughts are you should get 18's.

those will fit fine, even with lowering springs on the car. the offset is still high enough as to where you could tuck them if you wanted to.

i am looking for a set of those stockers as well.

I actually have 18s w tires I will then be unloading. tires have 8/32 tread still, look new.

rims are TSW montage. very nice stance on a GP. 18x8 wheel.
