Wheel Shake

I have a 2005 GTP and when not moving in gear the steering wheel shakes. Doesn't do it when in park. It comes and goes multiple times per drive too, as in at one stoplight it shakes really bad and then the next its barely noticeable. It doesn't seem to be temp related or when the A/C is on or off. What should I look at or do to figure out whats causing it? Maybe take the belt off and see if it still does it to see if its a pulley issue?

EDIT: Is an idle at just below 700 with the A/C on and just below 600 with it off normal? Seems pretty low to me

Wheel shake would have nothing to do with the ac or belt or pulley it'll be suspension related.

First thing I would do is take the front wheel off and take a look at your suspension. Make sure your motor/trans mount are good. Sway bar/endlinks are not broken. Cv axle is still good etc.

Yup could be the vibration from the motor running causing whatever to shake and cause the issue. I would just do a walk through over all the suspension and make sure your tires are good as well. Shouldn't be to hard once the wheels are removed and cars jacked up to find out what needs replacing.

Ok I'll take a look tomorrow after I'm done with class. Can't be tires tho, they're <1000 miles right now :) and don't think its CV's as I just did wheel bearings recently and they looked good. I wana say its the mounts tho, when put into gear, or from D to R, there is a hard clunk.

Thanks for the quick reply

Checked out the mounts and they're good. Check engine light popped up yesterday and its gone now but was P0243. What should I check for with that?

Check the wiring harness to the power control module, also check and see if your bbv and solenoid are connected. Were there any other codes? It shouldn't have pulled a code for just that

pop your hood, then shift it from P to r, then to D, watch the engine for movement. if its slings back and fourth when shifted from gear to gear, the mounts are blown to hell.

sounds like the engine is acting up causing the vibration at a stop. or the mounts.
