torque stars polished aluminum, fell asleep and ran off the road a little at about 55mph..rim has a hairline crack about 3 inches long...and the crack is on the inside of the wheel (when installed on the car)

has anyone had any sucess repairing wheels? i like my tq stars

Get a good used one. It'll be cheaper and less of a headache. At least you're dealing with fairly common rims, not discontinued aftermarket rims.

I had a discontuned aftermarket rim repaired one time years ago. It just never was right again.

I think i am going to have a problem finding a good used one...guess i'll call ed.

I've had one of mine welded for over two years. You just have to find someone who's experienced with welding aluminum.

well my brothers got a tig and a mig so maybe ill see if he's up to it

Well once you crack a rim like that, it is structurally compremised. Like everyone else has said, just look for one on FleaBay or a local junk yard. Even if you get it weld shut, it will more than likely crack again and you will be right back where you started from.

Here are a few examples I grabbed from eBay for ya to consider.

some states don't allow any wheel repair to go on the road again (Michigan and Georgia both fine a mechanic if they do it)

If your brothers an experienced welder it should'nt be a problem I have fixed a few aluminum rims with good results and if you can't find anyone locally send it to me and I'll fix it ,shipping would be about $20 each way.Chico.
