• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Wheel coffee tables.

Just finished the red one today. I've had the white one for a few years.

The white one is an American Eagle 077 18x8". Used to be polished alum. The red one is a factory 16x8" 1993 Grand Prix GTP wheel. I have one more I want to make a lamp out of. Just too lazy to piece together all of the wiring and fixturing I need.

I used second gen GP front hubs because the mounting bolts are an even 120* degrees apart which make it easy to put legs on to and look right.

I had the legs bent at work for free, I cut them to fit, drilled the hole in each, had the wheel, hub, and legs powdercoated for free, vinyl overlay was $5, and glass was $22. I still need 2 more lugs for the red one at $1 each.

So for me, I had the rims as extra so they were "free" so I have maybe $40 in each for the hardware and bits and pieces I needed.

WIN!!! Awesome idea. Now that's thinking outside the box. And bar stools would be awesome too. I like em.

my uncle has a couple of bullitt wheels stacked up for a coffee table. He also has a 5.0 mustang block(IIRC) with 4 of the pistons on each corner to support a piece of glass.
I'm gonna do one like it with my motor that has a big hole in it.

i wish i worked at a machine shop....

awesome work yet again!
