Wheel alignment needed for rear hub replacement?

The shop says it's standard practice to get alignment with rear wheel hub replacement (passenger side) is this true? I've found mixed reviews, it seems as though you don't have to. What do you think? And they are charging $150 for labor and $90 for alignment, they wanted $250 for part but I bought it online for $35.

no, as long as you're not disrupting the relationship of the strut to the knuckle you don't *need* to align.

What they both said. The wheel bearing has no effect on alignment. Sounds like a shop looking to upcharge on a job.

If its standard practice after a rear wheel bearing then it is standard practice to do it after a brake and rotor job since a bearing job is only a few more bolts at that point.

I didn't read your last sentence until now, but you are going to regret your $35 wheel bearing choice when it fails in a few months.

That's a frigging crook shop. $250 for a hub? BS. Good ones go for about $114 to $156 in local stores.
Sorry to say it but a $35 hub will fail by the end of summer.
