Well I tell ya...When they come install the u-verse. If latency isn't as good as Comcast then I'll just tell em to shove and I'll just keep yelling at comcast every month to keep the bill affordable. Comcasts' powerboost thing probably fibs those numbers a bit I'm sure...
But it varies so much. I think if all the neighborhood heathens get on their fancy game systems all at once it kills my speed. I assume that's what's happening? Sometimes it gets so slow I just want to punch small infants.
 


ahh. I see. Well hopefully this u-verse thing will remain much more stable. As long as it's remotely close to what I'm getting now (same price) then I'll keep it, if not it gets booted.
 


well im in army senior leader school barracks, using army paid for dsl, being used by 200 other people. so at least its free.

Yup Comcast. Sucks balls. BUT I am paying for 6mbps and I'm glad to know it's dead on. But over the break when all the heathens were home, the bandwith surely got narrow.

AT&T U-verse are coming to install on the 13th. So we shall see how it goes then.

Well... this is u-verse..

So I'm going to eat my words on what I said.. That's paying for 18mbps with U-verse.

But we're switching back to Comcast. My youtube vids take forever to load along with everything else. Amazing how 6mbps with comcast felt better than u-verse at 17ishmbps
 


no no. not off youtube. that's just one example. man everything is slower! you click, wait for action, then it comes. with comcast i could click and it was there. its a very noticeable difference across everything.

I pay for 18mbps.... Granted i was remoted to my home pc from work to do this test.That's probably eating some bandwidth.
 
Latency sucks with the u-verse available to my house. It's a very new advancement here in my hood, so I'm not surprised. I've ran many speedtests and seen the Ping as high as 350ms. It's really laggy.

But the prices, taxes, surcharges, and then being caught in a bind with their bundle aided my return to comcast. I'll just stick with what works.

And I also find it strange my server is in KY..I'm in Memphis.
