Any ideas or suggestions?

Went out running yesterday and I think thats how I got it. Head was stopped up around one this morning when I got up, back also ached like it had inflammation or some crap, and I had a sore throat. Which I still have, everything else is gone.

ive always used those listerine pcket paks helps get rid of mine, it may burn a bit but it seems to work

Seriously?

Like, mixed together?

Yeah, use the honey to sweeten the tea. Just get you some hot water and use a teabag (huhuhuh-huhuh) and dunk it in the cup for a little to let it steep and then add honey. You sip it, don't just chug hot tea LOL

Orange juice works the best for three reasons.

It keeps you hydrated, as most doctors recommend whenever you have any type of cold or flu. Second the vitamin C will boost the ammune system which will halp fight the bacteria causing the sore throat. And thirdly the OJ will work as a topically by killing the bacteria in the throat and healing the throat. It is similar to how putting salt on a wound works. It hurts like hell but heals really well. If you decide to do this you should drink at least 3 tall glasses of it a day [about 16 ounces]. I usually get noticeable results in 3 days. The more you drink the better it is.

If you just want to alleviate the pain cloroseptic works and so does thera flu tea. Your body will get used to the cloraseptic very quick and become almost useless. The thera-flu tea works like nothing else i have ever tried but only for 4 hours.

I could write a book on soar throats! I have tried a LOT of things and I probably have had the worst of soar throats you can imagine and last year I got nailed with them and had to go to an ENT specialist once and was near emergency room because my throat swelled up bad and was very painful. As suggested above hot Tea and Honey-poor it on. Even a spoon ful of honey will help. It is very thick and coats well. I stumbled across an odd remedy also and if you lot HOT food it will work somewhat but I am not convinced 100%. Put some cayanne pepper powder in water, mix it and gargle it. It will burn but helps. Also if you have some Dave's Insanity Habenero "use one drop at a time" hot sauce I would take and put some on my finger and stick it on the back of my tongue and swallow. It really gets rid of pain instantly! You dont taste the burn on your tongue if you put it on the back of your tongue. Throat drops help as well but I find sugary stuff just makes a soar throat worse. Hot foods really seem to help me out, and I like them anyways so it works out. Some people have said to drink the juice from a jar of Jalepeno peppers or slices and that helps also, I just eat the slices lol. If you are not in to hot stuff then tea-honey work out well. One other thing I stumbled on last year that is a NASTY tasting drink but works very well is to warm up a class of milk and put a 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric power in it. I think it tastes aweful and I have to hold my breathe when drinking it so I dont breath it in but this twice a day for a few days really seems to help out. I can go on and on but this is the latest of things that I have found and tried out. LOTS of fluids also. I started liking Lemon Herb tea and Honey, drink it frequently. Everyone responds different and that is just a part of life, I experimented with about anything to help out.

I suspected that was the case, by the delivery.:th_jester:

Oh and to the OP. I find warm salt water, like saline drops does for irrated eyes, works reasonably well. The method that works best probably has to due with what caused the the sore throat.

Try some warm salt water and lemon juice mixed... gargle for 30 sec. spit out and repeat. Should help on the soreness. Works well if your gonna do a lot of talking/speech, sing, ect.
