I feel i kind of got ripped by a local junk man "i payed 20 bucks" but i discovered a 98 GTP at a junkyard ripped out engine all the goodies basic interioir there no sunroof so water was in her for like a month =[ its a sad sight jet black nice gtp other then the enormus amount of front end damage =[ anyways i bought the plastic intrument panel plastic "that you take off to put a stereo in" haha anyways im thinking of painting it silver so it stands out in my black leather interoir im just wodnering what should i paint it with that will look awesome? thanks guys for your input and help :th_skull:

well so far i bought a can of krylong fusion plastic white gloss paint..... i sprayed it like 3 times so far...... still has tiny bubbles and runs and drip marks etc... should i sand the defected areas then give it a light coating?

Your best bet would have been to sand the plastic down first before painting. Also if the person who owned the car prior to it being junked used any armor all or anything on it, it will repell the paint. Thus the sanding before painting. Also the use of an adhension coat before paint will help it stick better to the plastic.

crap =[ can i still sand it all down with paint on it... sorry i suck and dont no anything about painting haha.

ur still good to go. :) grows on u once u start painting regularly. ^___^
lol. the plastic how-to is a good source too.
---------
basically:
-sand the part u want to paint with a high-grit paper like, 640 *shrugs*
-if u want a color that'll stand out, primer it first, but if u want subtle color (which i like), a dark primer or just the sanded plastic can do. :)
-once u get a technique down with spraying (side to side, 6" away from the piece, etc.), u'll get it done in no time. ^___^

...try not to scratch it putting it back on, it's no fun. ;)

yeah id be pissed if i scrathed it ok so i paint it it looks awesome and shine is there anything i can put over it to protect the paint from scrathes or chips J.W thanks alot guys your a big help =]

There are some paint protector sprays and wipes that are available at like AutoZone and stuff, but if u can't find em or dont have em, basic vinyl/leather/plastic protection will do. :) ArmorAll Wipes, BlackMagic spray, whatever u fancy. I use Black Magic leather protector cus it smells good and my car just soaks it right up. ^____^

good to know thanks man i just baught a armor all 30 dollar bundle pack comes with everything to clean my GTP haha. thanks guys =]
