• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What, you didn't think I'd be back?

Well bad news, insurance called back today and said they think the car may be totaled. They're sending an adjuster out next week to look at it and see. Not exactly sure what he has to look at, they know what it will cost to fix, I guess they're going to look at the overall condition of the car and see if it's worth more than the damage estimate. NADA clean retail value is $3,400 or so, but trade in value is less than $2k, the estimate was for $2,300 so don't know what's going to happen yet.

Ok so the outcome, they did total the car but let her buy it back and cut her a check for over $2,700. We got new headlights, that I'm not very happy with, and a junk yard green bumper for now.

Does anybody else have a problem with their aftermarket OEM style headlights? The last set I bought for her green car seemed fine, they lit up good and didn't stick out all stupid, they were Vision if I remember right and came with all new Sylvania bulbs and the wiring harness. These are Eagle Eye and came with no harness and the bulbs in the headlights are some generic Chinese crap! They don't light up very well, and have to be aimed apart so far to light up the road that they stick out on the inside and look retarded! I guess you get what you pay for, the last set was $75 shipped of eBay, these were $63. :/

Here's some pics.

Dirty bish, damn tree sap and gravel roads!

At least it's clean in here!

This is what I'm talking about with the headlights sticking out.

And here they are from a distance of about a car length. All these pics are without fog lights.

Here's the blotchiness of the beam.

And if I back up a few feet the light to the sides nearly goes away.

And on the road.

Holy overestimated payout.

That is a Subaru?

What are you going to do with the wheels? Those are nice wheels.

I googled the XT6 and .... yea... not impressed. Rear engine, 4banger turbo at best, 5-spd. 111bhp - 148bhp. Even if the car weighs 2000 lbs its still slow, old, and sorry but I think its ugly. Like a Fiero with less power and more ground clearance.

Please help me like it. Why did you get it???

No, the XT6 is a 2.7 6cyl, the turbo was the mid-grade model. And it's not rear engine, it's front engine full time 4wd with height adjustable air suspension, a locking center differential, electric power steering, and lots of gadgets not found on smaller cars back in the day, or even many bigger more expensive cars. It's a very interesting and quirky car. It was actually the most aerodynamic car in the world when introduced in '85 with just .29 C/D. I really like it, and would much rather drive this than the Grand Prix. :)

Eh... getting warmer, but then I scrolled back up and saw a pic and hated it all over again.

maybe if you got a set of these I would like it more... the full time AWD and adjustable suspension made me think this.

You would lose the nice wheels but gain +40 offroad Subaru points.
