So my mom loved her '99 SE so much she went and bought a '00 SE. Basically the same car but in red, with the twisted mesh wheels, and no lumbar support on the drivers seat. lol


It's got a few issues, and it's a 3100, but she gave $700. The lady she got it from has owned it for 7 years and kept the maintenance up on it fairly well. It's just had new brakes put on, recent oil change, and a little bit of other work. She hit a raccoon with it and damaged the front bumper, probably because the headlights SUCK! And it needs tires, the right tail light fills with water, the rockers are rusty, and the blower only works on high, but everything works, all the windows, the A/C, ABS, traction control, and I think the transmission has been rebuilt.


I don't have many pics of it, but here's what I've got.

Also, wtf is up with the G6 GXP at the top of the GRAND PRIX forum? And where the hell is the search button?!? :th_angry2:


LOL nvmd. I found it, it's just a box at the top of the forum that you have to really look for. Wow.
 
yea the search button is secretly hidden next to the magnifing glass haha, but u plan on doing anything to the gp? that needs new tires and rims ASAP!
 
I actually like the cross laced rims. (Had them on my first GP...bítch to clean) Hate the catfish, though. She cleaned up pretty nice though, minus the headlights. No wonder she hit a raccoon.
 
def not a fan of that or the color of the car for that matter, idk somethin screams "old ppl car" when i look at that haha, especially the rims
 
Yeah the rims and mud flaps scream old people car to me too, but then my mom is 53! lol I don't mind the anteater bumper, distinguishes it from the GT(P), but I agree they're not the best wheels. I saw some chrome 5 spoke ones on a 99ish Bonneville at the junk yard that I would really like to pick up for it. There was also a newer SE with the GT front bumper in that color that I was going to get for it. It had a crack, but it wasn't half missing like this one! I also tried cleaning the headlights, it did no good at all.



Otherwise it's going to stay pretty much the way it is. I did scrape the sticker off the windshield, and took out the stereo in favor of a stock CD player. I may throw some different wheels on, and definitely getting some OEM replacement headlights, but that's about it.
 


A GT front and rear bumper and some tint will set it off well. Also time for some new headlights (obviously). Looks like it cleaned up pretty well. How's the interior look?
 
The interior is in great shape, though somebody had the left rear door panel off and forgot to put the reflector and window switch back on. The cup holder is missing the piece that holds the little flip out thing on, and there's two little holes to the right of the console below the radio where somebody had a gain controller installed for the stereo, otherwise it's perfect. The seat bolster is good too, her last one it was collapsed.
 
i HATE HATE HATE the SE bumpers. there are absolutely terrible looking. i wouldnt even consider buying my 02 gtp if it had a bumper like that lol

So those are just on SE? I was wondering about that. It looks like a snake :p
I'm glad my SE didn't have that bumper.
 
yeah thats another thing. the dual exhaust with the rear bumper looks a whole lot better than the SE's with the single exhaust.

you got lucky i guess. assuming you have a newer SE like a 01 plus or something?
 
Anything is fixable on these cars... My car had a 3100 and catfish SE bumper. No longer. :P

Well it looks like the front bumper is getting replaced. Don't know if it's getting another anteater bumper, or a GT bumper yet. Depends on what I can find.


So here's the story, I bought a '99 ZX2 for super cheap, fixed it up and was going to drive it for a while, had it all of 2 and a half weeks when I got t-boned by a brand new (literally bought THAT day) Dodge Avenger.

That was a little over a month ago, well this past weekend I was driving my mom's GP since my car is fubar'd, and a young Asian kid in his dad's 2012 Lexus RX330 turned onto the street I was on, came across 3 lanes, and smashed right into me! I layed on the horn, smashed the brakes hard enough to kick in the ABS on dry pavement, and veered to the left, and he still managed $2,300 damage to the poor old lady car!

Been meaning to replace the headlights ever since she got it, and I guess this is as good an excuse as any!
 
Oh also looking to buy a bumper cover in this same color, if I'm going to buy one and have it shipped it would have to be a good condition one in this same color for a reasonable price. I can get them locally in different colors all day long, if I'm going to have to get it painted I'd just do that. If anybody has one let me know please, I put up a thread in the wanted section too.
