• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What would you pay...

Just to give you an idea, there is a 2000 silver 2 door here with 116K miles, in beautiful shape with a very long list of mods for $4500.

$2.23 + tax, shipping and handling.

Nawwww, just kidding. Given all that you have done to it, the care you have put into it Id be okay with the $4500 range.

I love these cars... why is GM's resale so bad!? ... oh.... because this is the only GM car I have owned that hasn't been plagued with problems. My S-10 was the worlds most evil machine...

My S-10 was the most durable vehicle I've had yet. Eleven years old, 125k miles and still all the original parts (starter, compressor, alternator, fuel pump, you name it). Only didn't start once, but that was because of the battery.

I miss that truck sometimes. :(

Ya know thats really a shame because i paid 5000 for it stock....and it may not seem like it but i have right at about 10,000 into it. But thats how it goes...so no suprise here...lol

Sold!! It may take me a little while to get it boxed up and im sure ups will take extra long in getting this to you...but it's on it's way up there to ya.

So only 4500 huh? Darn....I've learned something in my short lived life so far... And that is you never get what you paid for something. But i've know that for a while...what i've really learned is if you want something fast and modded....buy it that way...let the other person waste there money not you.

Perfect example right here.

I thought you guys were seriouse for a second...Man im i stupid(<don't quote that)...I forgot to tell you that it has a tripple edge tranny....so the going price should be around 10000 now right?:p

It's not a waste if you enjoy the process. Getting there is half the fun.

And you know i totally agree with that...hence the reason i have done it so many times i guess lol...just hard to think about it like that sometimes i guess.

You will never come out ahead. I paid $21K for my car and then mutliply what I have in my sig times two, because the high dollar stuff has been done twice already. I'm guessing the car, stock is right around $12K, modded even less.

After seeing what people have done to their cars on these forums, I will never buy a modded car. :th_shakinghead1:

What do you mean by that? As long as the things were done correctly i think you could def save your self some money this way if you dont enjoy doing the work your self.

Then what's the point? If you're not in it for the work, what's so fun about having a modded 20-year-old platform with FWD? Yay, I bought it. Woohoo.

Other things can be had out there. But, the best part is making it yourself. I've got gearheads in my blood, so maybe I miss the point. I love doing things to the car and seeing it start up and work. Being faster is just the bonus.

If you are paying attention to how many cutting their teeth mechanics wise on these cars, then you know what I mean. I think you know what I mean. The thing is, when you buy something that's modded and there is a problem (likely there before you bought it) then it makes it even more difficult to diagnose quickly. And what about those cutting their teeth tuning. Geez look at all of the posts from those needing tuning help and chasing their tails because they don't really know what they're doing, but think they do.

When my son and I went looking for a GTP for him, checking for any signs of modding was one of the first things I did. Found a one owner old guy - SCORE

If someone buys a beater for a beater price, then you really can't be too picky. Other than that, unshadetreed is best IMO.

I miss my s-10 only because I loved the way it drove - it was just nice and comfortable. 1997... 2.2 4 cylinder... Head gasket blew twice (And I swear I drove it like an old lady - that never should have happened), Universal joints went a few times...er... clutch fan died 3 times... gas lines rusted out in 2004... seemed a bit premature to me as the truck was quite young at that time... Water pump died... Alternator died and the tranny acted like a crazy SOB...

BUT... DANG.... that thing had the best heater on earth! My GP isn't HALF as hot as that baby would get!
