Ok. I was laid off early this past month.:th_depressed: I fixed the problem with the scheduling..and magically they no longer require my services.:th_shakinghead2:, anyways.... I am plagued with a problem.

I have a buffer in the bank that will allow me to look for work for another 2 months if I stretch it....

I have looked in 2 different states.. and this town I am in is at 26% unemployment.

I am faced with the fact that I may have to sell some cars....

I sold my 87 Formula this past week, and was able to purchase a 88 fiero GT, that came with a stock L67 motor for a swap.(FOR DIRT CHEAP!) I have an offer on my S10 as a rolling chassis...in other words I get to keep my fresh turbo motor/trans combo along with my wiring, and computer...

this fiero came with a stock L67 for the GTP. I am looking at things and what has gone on in the past for drag FWD GTP's.... the market isnt really there. people are looking for stock ones with low miles. my 2001 GTP is paid off, and has been the first car I practically bought brand new...ever. the GTO being my 2nd.

I am faced with a decision.... I am having a hard time making. do I drop the stock motor into my GTP along with a stock trans and sell her... and transfer my built turbo motor/trans into the fiero for one HELL of a street/strip car...and sell the GTP.

or do I keep the GTP as is, and sell the S10.. and try and find a trans to hold up to 900horse of turbo LS power? and sell my built glide?

The Fiero is paid for, I'd sell my clean ultra low mile GTP for money in my pocket, and sell my S10 as a roller... and save the power plant for a car later....

I dont know what to do.:(

I believe priorities come before pleasures, and racing especially.

I know what unemployment is like, and forced me to sell my 5.0.

You can always build another car, buy another, work on another project.

Are you able to receive unemployment?
 
Been there done that, i hope it all works out for... leave the GTP alone... it likes its turbo build. :D
 
Sounds like your gtp is the one your really gonna miss, and once there gone, there gone. If it was me from what i've learned in the past, i would let the s10 go. Theres powerglides out there that can be had cheap, and there not to expensive to build. And is it the right choice to take up a fiero build right now? Even though you have the drivetrain theres still gonna be alot of misc expense involved. I would go for the fastest and easiest way to make a buck and go from there
 
i would not sell your gtp, sounds like your passion
sell the s10 and fiero and see how things go after that...
 


i say sell ur crib and live out of ur car. ull never have to spend another dime on uneeded expenses like cable, electricity, heat...wtf is heat? last time i checked we were warm blooded. oh yea and a water bill. water is free everywhere. just walk into a gym to use the bathroom and take a quick shower.
 
I say wait! I had a very nice G6 and sold it cause I couldn't afford the payment after I got a divorce and then not even two weeks later got a job that I could afford it easy! I kick myself in the butt everyday for it!! You can always just put them out there for sale and see what kind of offers you can get...but I wouldn't be so quick to jump to sale them..you might later kick yourself in the ass!
 
Sell off toys keep good daily driver and maybe the turbo Engine build unless you get what you want for it find work and get stable again
Unemployment sucks... Find a job any job that comes close to what you need to make... Racing will be around forever you can always piick up projects later and start over...

I had picked up the Fiero/L67 for the price of a used L67 motor from Morad..... so if I sell the Fiero, or spare L67 It pays for itself.:eek:

I want an old 68-70 GTO to drop the truck motor/trans into and see how fast it would go... and it would be cool since I have the 2005 GTO as a DD.

I just dont have the drive I used to on the GTP....had her for 6 years... and I have always loved fieros. I am absolutly head over heels in LOVE with my GTO....

I just dont know.... so many things to think about right now.:th_scratchhead:

I'd have to think of it.... havent thought of it at all.

I dont have unemployment yet.. I did file for it this past week.

honeslty TCO is right IMO. I see friends drinking everynight on unemployment while I am working my tail off. I wasnt too happy.:cool:
 
theres a guy in one of my classes like that has had unemployment for a year smokes weed fails most of his classes and the most priceless move was selling his low mileage 01 s10 for a 70 dodge dart that barely ran gotta love losers though they make me look good lol
