WHAT to do??

Ok guys I'm torn between what to do with my car.

Please vote after reading this.

My mom is giving me her 03 jeep cherokee limited. These are my options.

I can demod the car then sell it, If i sell it I get half the money and my mom gets the other half, the reason I get half is she bought the car and paid for it all.

Or I can keep it for 3 years in storage drive her jeep and when I graduate I get the jeep and the car signed over to me. But if I store for 3 years wouldn't I have all kinds of repairs? Gaskets, tires, wheel bearings.

I think selling all the stuff off my car now and selling the car and taking half the money is my best bet. If not id have to pay for repairs and then try and sell the car or keep it.

What do you all think is the best bet.
 


How much do you want to keep it? If you really want to store it there's ways to store it right so that you don't have too much to do to it when you take it out again.
 
It will be in olathe, Ill be 2 hours away at school. My parents wouldn't do it for me.
 


id keep it. It would be nice to have an extra car just in case. Gaskets arent even all that expensive, if they would even go bad. just make sure you store it right.

If you do sell the GP, invest the money.

I think in 3 years of never having it with me all the time I'm gonna want it gone soon as I graduate. I get both cars in my name when I graduate or half the money for the car now.
Storage + upkeep on the car then when I want to sell it I wont get near as much as I can now in 3 years.

Moral of story, Im getting tired of the car and wouldn't mind seeing it gone and also in 3 years I'd probably deff want to get rid of it. Will car hold its value in 3 years? also there is rust on the rocker panels and also a little starting in the cars left rear corner panel.

I don't mind driving two hours I do it all the time.


Mom will pay for all repairs on jeep, some will be needed soon since it just about has 90k miles. Gas will be 87 not 91 and I won't be driving it that much cause summer, bike will be mine with my grand prix money!

And grand prix money all goes into a CD for me that doesn't get spent.
 


still I wont spend it and it will be in a safe place..my 4k cd has made over 200 bucks in 8 months.
 
Its 100% happening I just want to see which is smarter, sell it now or sell in 3 years after storing it...
