Hey guys. I'm at kinda a crossroads right now. I was wpnderin what everyone thinks I should do next to my car for go fast parts. I trust u guys more than the tech guys from a company so here it is. I've got a basic 3.4 setup with 180 tstat,3" catless dp,plog, dhp pcm, cai, and tb spacer. I've already talked to bio(thanks for the input nick) and was wonderin where I should go. I don't have a ton of money, but some say 1.9 rockers maybe? Intercooler? And from what company?thanks guys

Since you already have a down pipe and p-log. There is no need for headers.

We sell intercoolers for 450 bucks. For a Stage 2 phenolic version.

Would you be willing to put a cam in your car? If not rockers are the next best thing.

Well hell that's not a bad price for a full size. And prob not on the cam but I was thinkin pretty hard bout rockers

Just let me know i'd be glad to help.

I used to have 1.9 rockers. When I had the 3.4 and the p-log and DP. The car was pretty fast. It's a whole nother beat though when you have a full size I/C, 2.8 and a XP cam.

If you do go with the rockers don't go broke with ZZP's but instead get your self a good set of ROLLER rockers.

The problem with ZZP's is they charge a core on their rockers now. And they are almost as much as rollers. And the difference in valve train stability and extra power you will get out of the roller rockers is well worth the money.

Ah I see. Well ill take that into consideration. Roller rockers would b a nice touch. R rockers hard to change out? Need any special tools?

Nope nothing special. An hour job tops (and that's only because you have to take the alternator off to remove the rear valve cover.

Other than that a 3/8 ratchet and a 3/8 socket (I think it's a 3/8 socket.)

Right on. Sounds pretty easy. I'm new to these cars but I've done all my upgrades myself so I'm sure I can do it. So which one gives the more bang for the buck? Rockers would b easier to install that's for sure

Best bang for the buck would be the cam for sure. I would get nothing less than somthing similar to a XP to make it worth while.

But your looking at needing valve springs also. If your not willing to do all of that then I would just throw some roller rockers on it.

rockers were very easy to change out. i LOVE my roller rockers.

i would also suggest meth injection in there some where.

parker, what would a complete full size intercooler kit cost. fmhe, pump, core.

He has the modded 1.9's from ZZP I think. Only downside is since you have the PCM and it shifts at 6200 you are going to need stronger valve springs...unless you get the rockers and turn the shift points down to 6,000 or less. Otherwise with the higher lift you are going to get valve float if you have stock springs and shift over 6K. Just something to keep in mind ;)

Yeah I read about the shift rpm problem on zzps website. Yeah that pcm raised my shift points alright. So bios just got the modded 1.9s and not rollers huh? Well I wonder how much? I was never plannin on doin a cam or valvesprings to my car. Would rockers change driveability?

if it looks like it is shifting at 6200 on the tach then it is shifting at 6000 truly. the tach is off and going higher than it is actually going.

yes, the ZZP modded 1.9s are on my car. they work great on stock valve springs. they really wake up the car for the price of them. i was planning on selling them for $200.

Well I know I wanna do rockers. Definetly wanna get a good tune though too. ill b headin to the track in the next couple weeks so ill have a good baseline before I do anything else. What do u guys wanna bet ill run with my setup?
