I had returned from dealership and parked my car. They had replaced the axle seal on passenger side. A couple of days later I noticed the paint bubbling. I called them and they said to bring car in for them to see.

I looked but did not see anything strange below. It could have been stretched.

I have seen brake fluid peel paint. I washed the car before taking it to the dealer. There was zero damage.

guy starts to coat with stripper, bey the time hes finished painting it, the first 1/2 is peeling up already. looks about the same.

How on earth could this get on an isolated part of car? After owning this beast for 19 years, never experienced this

Check your invoice for topping off fluids.
Dude was holding an open bottle of brake fluid and leaned over to check mileage....oops.

19 years??!!

I know they were doing work on their service drive floor. Don't know how any chemicals could have come in contact??

PITA...Do I even bother taking it back to dealership? They will no doubt deny it.

id go back and rag like a old lady. that paint looks damn good for its age.

the up side, it was a number of years ago now, but i got both sills repainted in my 97 truck for 75 bucks. i used to hang my leg out the door while doing paper work, 150,000 miles later i wore the paint off. surely its gone up in price since then.

Damn engine bay and undercarriage is spotless too. Been complemented at dealer by others who have seen the car.

Spoke to Service Manager who wants to personally see damage. Of course, there is the usual disbelief. I took it to the body shop yesterday and the owner said that the chemical must have been solvent based. All that needed to happen was for it to contact paint and within a day or two blistering would take place.
