• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

we were trying to find out why my car randomly dies, it did it twice on the way here while on the freeway.... we were cruising at like 70-80 and the rpm's just started dropping from 2.5 to like .5-1k.5 1.5k.5..... then it came back up and cruised again like nothing happen.. normally at slow speeds itll just die and ill have to restart. that is the first time its done it to me on the free way at a high speed, seems like the fact that i was going 70 or so made it come back.. idk.. so today i bought a new crank positon sensor hoping thatll work as we were looking for other things checking all loose connections and even put in a new full pump chasis connector, i found this it is probabaly nothing.. but it shoots air if you touch it and it did not have a hose on it.. what is it? any ideas? i know this problem has happened to a number of people and it seems to always be diffrent issues...
thanks guys

Thats supposed to go to your BBV. But you got some other splitter off of your brake booster line. Not sure why its ran like that. Cap that hole.

Your car is an 03 would mine have that being a 97? And what is the importance? Should I just run a hose off it and seal the hose? I don't know where I'd get a random cap like this?

The top port of the vac tree goes to the brake booster. The middle port on the tree goes to the HVAC system, but I've seen some of the older models that just have that port capped off. And the bottom port on the tree goes to the Boost Bypass Valve. The HVAC line allows you to switch between defrost, vents and floor. You have a pretty big vac leak with that bottom port open like that. And you can get caps anywhere. Here are some at Autozone.
