I dig the Lego's. No hate here. I have quite a few sets kicking around too.
I have 2 vintage pachinko machines that I restored that we like to play. I have a pinball machine too, but it needs to be shopped (read- $500).
Besides that, I have a growing collection of postwar Lionel trains and accessories. I have them around the tree at every xmas (ran 3 trains simultaneously this year) but hoping to get a more permanent spot in the basement. Sad thing is that the current value of the trains around the tree is more than my GP, lol...
I also have a decent collection of vintage BMX bikes which I still ride (will never part with my chrome Hutch Trickstar) and lots of parts. I love getting out and just hitting the trails or street. Just me and my ride. No phone, no work, no b*tching, just me and the woods and/or pavement. I might be 37, but my love of riding hasn't died. Bad part is now I can afford to build the bikes I always wanted to. Heck, my daily ride cost me a tad over $1,200 to build.
I play video games on anything from my 8 bit Nintendo all the way up to PS2. Love some NHL2K on Dreamcast. Heck, my 3 "brothers from another mother" and I still play N64 Perfect Dark on the regular. I don't do any online gaming. Besides, it's no fun if I can't watch you throw the controller when I kick your a**, lol.
I also had many aquariums but have downsized to 3, a 90 gal. w/20gal sump, a 30 gal and a 2 gal (for my daughter). Need to restock the 90 since most of the fish are gone (died of old age). The Oscar that I had I could feed by hand, and he was larger than it! Would love to turn the 90 into a saltwater but just don't have the time and money right now so i'll stick with chiclid's for now.
I do enjoy drinking when I can but can't get trashed all the time like I used to. Not a good example for my daughter and I don't want to loose a weekend day to a hangover when I could spend it with her. I can say I've programmed some phone systems remotely whilst a bit tipsy though (while on-call on a weekend). I've been in telecom for 15 years now and I've got a few things kicking around that I guess would fall into "collection" status. A few Lucent/Avaya phone systems, an Audix VM, old phones in wierd colors, etc.. Good thing is I have unlimited access to Cat5 and can make any length Ethernet or phone cables I need, which comes in handy around the house or for friends.
