i just put speeddaddy headers on my car last week end and i am gonna be getting this exhaust from ZZP with out mufflers ZZ Performance
right now i have thrush turbo mufflers and while i am driving they have a anoying droaning tone that i want to get rid of. i want something that will me decently quiet while driving but have a noticable exhaust tone when getting in the throttle or at idle. which mufflers should i try, i was thinking either flowmasters or magnaflo.

Go borla....seriously. Make absolute sure you get a resonator, or you're drone is going to be terrible.

I've got Speed Daddy headers--No Cat--ZZP Catback--Magnaflow mufflers, and it drones like all hell.

Just welded in a 28" long Glasspack that helped a lot, but theres still some drone.

I say borlas because they sound like sex, ask anyone that has them.

YOU DONT NEED THE WHOLE CATBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just dont waste your money dood.

dont buy flowmaster EVAR, some like magnaflows,

But i STRONGLY recommend these mufflers from rockauto, they are jsut like stock type mufflers, but have a better note because they are better made.

Once the resonator seam popped on my GTP, I had it cut out and the U bend taken out at the same time. I thought it sounded pretty good and the cabin drone was not what I felt was too bad.

Mufflers gave out last year and had a local shop (same one that did the work above) put in a couple of Solo Preformance mufflers. Real pretty polished stainless ovals (Stealths) with some baffles in them (not straight through tuner style round boys). Funny thing was I had to have them put a resonator in, cabin drone was real bad. Guess the stock mufflers were still muffling even though they had holes in them. New mufflers have a lower growl compared to the stock cans. Since you live in GA, rust is probably not an issue like up north where I live. I paid to keep my exhaust all stainless so I don't have to throw money at it every year.

Magna Flows sound great on V8's, I have one on my TA and I love it, not sure about a 3800.
Oops got that wrong, the TA has a Flowmaster, anyway sounds great on the V8.

Mufflers are tough, easy to say "I don't like it" after it is all welded in place, just sucks to have to pay to change it.

thanks guys, so now its a tossup between magnaflo and borla. i have a welder and will do the work my self, so that will save me a little money.

Single outlet is for people who don't wanna fill up the cutout in the bumper ;)

I have a factory GM resonator...and its quiet. I also have chambered flowmasters...and they are the best sounding flowmasters I have ever heard on a 3800. Ever. Its all in the setup...because most chambered mufflers, as stated...sound like crap.

I don't like Magnaflow's on these cars because they sound too tame. I'd suggest something like a Corsa or Dynomax muffler. I love the Corsa catback on these cars...and I've only heard one...and he had headers and a VS cam.
