what made you decide to get a GP?



I needed a car.. My cousin had a 02 GT 4 door that he bought new.. He used to bring it to my work.. (Chevy Dealer) For me to work on it.. I knew everything was new..
He hadnt driven it since 05 when he go married and his wedding gift to himself was a 06 GT Mustang.. So after 5 and 1/2 years in the garage.. He sold it to me for $1900..
 
i got a 99 for my first car and learned about the gtps... on a test drive bone stock I beat a si honda civic by a mile... my dick moved and i knew I had found my car...
 
Got sick of the 11 MPG Silverado and went out test driving cars and fell in love with a 2001 Silvermist GT, had it for a few months and wished I had gotten a GTP. That one got repoed 3 years later, and then I bought my GTP for $1800
 
When I had my Jetta, I thought I was the sh!t lol. Till one day I had a stock GTP roll up on me. We raced, I got smoked, My Choice was made. I started reading up on the GTPs and realized there potential ( for a highschool kid lol ), 2 years later I'm Driving my GTP and love it, even though it hates me right now.
 


I blew up my 95 Grand Am (half on purpose) and needed a new car. 3 days later I test drove this one from one dealership over to another dealership where I test drove an 02 GT coupe. Drove it off the lot 2 days later.
 
well my grandmother had bought it as her car (6years ago).its a 99 gp se 3.8. she bought it with 98k on it. i had drivin it a few times and fell in love with it instantly. so she gave me the car. now its got 160k on the original engine with a new trans(about 3500k) on it now. this is the only car thats ever lasted with me behind the wheel.. thats why i love it. its still all stock besides a k&n filter and a new gt front bumper,painted calipers, head unit and snit like that.
 
I totaled our only car (guy pulled out 10feet infront of me, while i was doing 55mph, the legal limit)...so about 2 weeks later my dad bought a 2000 GT, silver 4door. I loved driving it(with my newly aquired license)

So when I turned 16, I got a job, saved up, and found a nice damn 4door black GTP in the autotrader, and grabbed it...
 


The old wider is better ads made me want the first one I had. I totaled it in a bad accident with a barricade. I had to have another. I blew the trans and got my third. It was a good car, but I had to make a 5k mile trip in the winter in mountains and snow, so I traded in that one. I got sick of my POS SUV and wanted something I could mod, so I went $10k in the hole after buying and selling every 6 months for 2 years and got the GP I have now.

turned 17 saw my 1st sittin at car lot fell in love with the design drove it and was HOOKED,i didn't stop till i drove it off the lot that afternoon:-) then totalled it out 4months later,(idiot lady on cell,not payin attention to the hispanic turning infront slammed her brakes on and i SMACKED her in the rear.)that was a 97 SE,then got a 98GT,99SE3.1(P.O.S)98gtp,99gt,regal g.s99gt,and yota 4runner(1st5spd)then my BEAUTY now 99gt(bad to swap off for something thinking its better,or has more options,and etc.....so sue me.lol
 


oh and the and 1st 99 gt i did a FULL gtp motor swap.(dude sold me a bad motor in the parts car i bought)99gtp.and let it go back to finance co,. R.I.P
 
I needed a 4 door car with nice/roomy interior, decent size trunk and a good reliable engine.

I almost bought an 02GT but im glad i didnt, i love m,y 04.

I wanted a cheap, 4 door car that was comfortable and got ok gas milage to use as a daily driver so I can let the Cobalt sit in the garage.
