What is this noise

Alright I wake up to go to work and I'm greeted by my car sounding like it's gonna explode. The video only shows how it is in Park but it's much much louder when I put it in reverse or drive. Maybe a pulley? The supercharger shouldn't be making that noise I just replaced amd made sure that the coupler was good as well. Any help or suggestions on what it could be would be amazing URL]https://vimeo.com/132727470[/URL]

Will do when I get off work and yes it stops the noise when I hit the gas

Is t common for the whole belt tensioner to go bad? The pulley for the tensioner isn't the issue its the metal piece right above t from the tensioner. It sound like **** especially when I floor it you can hear that piece like move or the belt slipping

That's exactly what it's doing. You think if i pulled one from the junk yard it would last a while or should I just buy a brand new one

It's not the supercharge tensioner so it has to be the accessory belt if that's the longer belt

Every time I floor it or let off the gas especially when the transmission shifts I can hear a click from the tensioner

I'll go take a better vid of it right now before I go to work it's hard to explain

the main belt tensioner is the alt bracket. its all one part. you'll need new coolant elbows to change that. new its like 75 bucks or more. used much cheaper.

what year you got there? the 97-98 have a cast elbow on the bottom. its a bit tricky to remove some times.

It's a 99. And yeah the tensioner is one piece and it comes with new elbows. I have metal elbows so if I were to just swap the o rings I could reuse them right?

that full blown sc coupler failure. see how it stops when you rev it?

now take the belts off like i suggested 3 weeks ago and turn the sc pulley back and fourth, if you feel it click, the coupler is worn out.

I thought couplers only made that notice at idle? I kind of eliminated that thought because it makes a big clicking noise when the car up shifts

Lol, if you would have pulled that belt like suggested you would have diagnosed this in 2 minutes. Your tensioner may need replaced...but that noise is all coupler.

Take belt off and spin sc pulley back and forth. If you feel slop you know where you can start. Seriously takes less than 1 minute to check.

you dont eliminate things by doing nothing for 3 weeks lol take the belt off check it out. 15 mm socket on the tensioner will release the belt.

Thanks for the help again. I don't have days off until Saturday so I'll pull the belt when I get off tonight and check the pulley.
