What is this bolt for???

Its located right above the water pump.

Its missing on my engine block. Why?

It is used in different applications of the 3800 for different accessories on like an F-body application.

Damn looks like im taking a trip to the junkyard tomorrow. Thank you hitman. Any idea the size head of the thread to remove it or screw it back on?

I believe it's a 15mm head...threads are 8mmx1.25 I think if you want to pick one up at a hardware store.
