Was looking for the ignition wire under my dash today in my 07 gpgt and came across a black cylinder looking thing with three wires attached and it was just hangin there freely and had like a fan or something in it that would kick on and off with the ignition switch. Anyone know what the heck it's for?
 


Sorry no pic. Didn't think to take one. Wish I would have before I put it all back together though. The cylinder is big around as a quarter and about three inches long. Never seen anything like it before
 
not a clue maybe something with the alarm or remote start or some other acc idk maybe someone else will know
 


I believe that is a temerature sensor of some sort for cabin air temp for your HVAC system, just a guess though, if you look at the dash in that location you will find a small grill type opening, that is where this thing mounts, behind that little grill
