Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What is Rice?

I'm just saying that because my car might not be fast or quick, but I think it is doesn't make it rice or me a ricer.

So you're saying that you try to race everyone? or you didn't read the rest of my statement...

Let me copy and paste it for you again
if you say that your GP is fast or try to race everyone when you don't have a 3.2 pulley or less on a Gen III, you are a ricer.

Your statement says or. It doesn't say and. I don't ever race anybody but I think my car is relatively quick for what it is.

The definition of rice imo is thinking your car is Badass and its slow as ****, you modify the looks and think that makes your car fast, or your vehicle is loud as **** and slow as ****. Bottom line, if its loud it better be fast. I readily admit my stock pullied car is slow to anyone who asks. Im under no illusion that its fast. But when I drop pulleys and tune my car that doesnt make me a ricer. It means I'm building my car to be a dd sleeper. Not ricer

I have been a member here for a few months and the true meaning of rice is this: Anything added to a car that the group or collective does not like. Anything you do to your car that you like and is taylored to your tastes and not those of the collective is rice.

My advice is this: If you love what you have done to your car, don't worry about what the cool kids on the internet have to say. =) Feel free to take advice into consideration, but do not allow others to make decisions for you.

i think it's more the mentality than anything. running your mouth about anything but lining up behind a tree, roll racing, fly-bys, and gaudy visual stuff that just begs for attention. neons, LED/chrome taillights and door trims. i'm really enjoying being on the edge of it with my cobalt. has the 4 banger sound that even i don't think sounds good and a sticker behind the driver door that says "got boost?" i kinda sorta almost get it now... about the whole visual mods. to have something eye catching and unique, but to not be like a factory corvette or something but rather a car you put your effort and design into, being right on the edge of obnoxious but still put together right. and usually the ones that do the visual stuff right do the performance stuff right too. some people just do it wrong

And just what do you think ricers are?

Thats kinda gettin into a deep subject I think... By beinging diffrent than what some like, they are following others with similar tastes. Can anyone be truely original? Inspiration comes from somewhere... Thats why you have to do what you like and not what others tell you to like. Think of a car as an artists canvas. Do you like all art that you see? just because you like it does that mean it is good art even though I may not? Its all reletive. someone will always disagree as to what is beautiful and what is rice.

Cant believe this thread is still going. But since it is, my definition of car tiers:

Race:

On the flip side, when you think/believe your cars are slow, and they are in fact slow...it makes you a slowpoke. Which is much better than being a ricer.

See what I did there? Yeah, you see it.
