I plan on getting the pillar gauge holder now the question is what gauges. I want a boost gauge and probably the areoforce scan gauge. What should I get for 3rd? suggestions?

okay. but so your saying as long as you know there is oil in it then this aint all that important?? i was wondering if there was anything else that goes along with this?

For some reason I thought our cars had oil gauges :th_sign-putz: Then after you mentioned it I realized its just the oil life % lol. So is the scan gauge worth the money? And any suggestions on wich gauges to buy?

It also already monitors oil pressure, but apparently Pontiac didn't want to put it on your dash. I forgot that for a second too, since my car came with an oil pressure gauge.

I think it's worth every penny.

If you don't want oil pressure for some reason, I have fuel pressure and find it handy. Doesn't move a whole lot while driving, and rises when you stomp on it, but it is a definite warning to a failing pump if it decides to go while I'm being rough with it.

just to add but, i put a 2 5/8 machanical boost gauge on the dash(with a cup and such) with room for a pillar gauge and im gonna run the areoforce, air fuel, and oil press. yes the areoforce has them but i wanna be able to always monitor them. any other suggestion instead of the air fuel?

Aeroforce does not have air/fuel, and it also doesn't have oil pressure (oil pressure only works on some GM V8 engines like the LSx line). Air/fuel is useless on a narrow band O2 sensor. Just a pretty light show (if you want one I'll sell it to you on the cheap, as I never got around to installing it). Get something like oil temp, fuel pressure, etc that might actually be useful.

Edit: To clarify the above statement, it has commanded air/fuel, not actual air/fuel measure from the exhaust. It does have O2 sensor readings in mV though.

whats the stock fuel pressure supposed to be with no rewire kit or injectors? and with a rewire kit for the pump?

Fuel pressure is supposed to sit between 50-60PSI with the engine running. Not sure what effect the rewire would have, but injectors won't affect it until your at WOT and the pump can't keep up anymore.

just to answer the oil psi ? from earlier...the reason you want a oil psi gauge is to just be able to monitor the psi going thru the engine. if somethings happens such as the pump goes out of something gets cloged, then the gauge will relay that to you in the form of your psi dropping...think of it as an ses light for hidden problems...that answer the ?
