Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What does it take to trap 105-110MPH?

You got all of this advice for free and this is how you react? You're funny. :th_yawning:

You can pick up used turbo kits on the cheap. Just make sure they're not ****ed up like the cartuning one on here that needs a new turbo.

And then you'll need to drop 2-4 grand on a transmission that will stand up to any DECENT turbo kit.

So move to a different platform?

Oh and highway mileage is best with a turbo, not a blower.

The free advice is great and appreciated for sure, there is lots more to hear when someone throws out "you can go turbo for less than $3k installed" - especially when you are just learning this platform.

I don't want to replace the transmission for the sake of more horsepower via turbo. I thought there might be a decent median between 105-110MPH traps and a stock transmission (assuming that I dont beat the trans) - after all this car may continue to be an "winter only" car. Just want a fair bit more power given the roads are typically clear & winter last a long time here.

Bluegtp91 - thanks for the advice on the ZZP kit, seems like victorsmalls is an advocate as well. I will be on the lookout.

Depends on what year your car is.

If its 03+ then you have the stronger gemini chain as well as the hardened fourth gear.

Granted you dont beat on it, a turbo kit + stock tranny would do you just fine.

The idea is that the input shaft and the chain will NOT like slicks especially once you're north of 300 WHP.

Truth. I always run street tires, not putting that much faith into the stock trans :)
