hey guys, i dont really know much when it comes to GM cars but thats gonna change at soon

for the last year i have been working on 99-02 mercury cougars with the 2.5l v6 engine, mostly buying them for dirt off Craigslist, putting new engines or transmissons in them and selling them for on average of a 2k profit but after 5 of them im getting kinda tired of them so this is what im looking at

2005 grand prix and its about as loaded as the gt models go
it has 80k miles and they are asking $3650 i wount buy it for more then 3k and im sure my dad can talk them down to $2500
if i do this it will be done right, first going to a body shop to get the frame straightened, then getting all new parts,
the air bags did not go off for the record
there are two things that kinda scare me about this car, first as you can see in the pic the passenger side front engine mount is really bent making wounder what all has been affected
also the front drivers wheel looks like its hanging out a little farther then it should, but i took a quick look at the lower control arm/ball joints and cv shaft and they all looked fine, i pushed down on the strut a few times and it reacted about the same as the passenger side

im not sure if this is something worth getting, i figure you guys know these cars and could give me info

Agreed. I it has frame damage, stay away. A bent frame is never the same. Plus with the dogbones bent, it took a pretty good hit.

well this one is to fix and sell, but i have really started to like 04+ gp's, and was planing to get one like this, fix it and drive until it sells to see if its worth me selling my cougar over, coming from me thats saying alot, i really like my cougar its quick enough to keep up with a 3800 n/a gp but it handles like no other in the curves.
if i get a grand prix ill be getting a gtp and put my money into handling and hope i get it as good as a stock 99-02 cougar

i have been a member of newcougar.org for close to 2 years and have managed to keep from pissing off the mod's and the other members and i plan to do the same here

i will be on here looking around learning about these cars until i get one

im wiht koniig on that one... $1k max

if you do fix to sell, dont drive it. sell it asap and meet the person somewhere when you sell it so they never know where you live.. craigslist will be your best friend
