hey guys, new here and have a question about my 3.1 2002 gp se. had it 2 years now...no problems(doesnt idle perfect but ah well)
so im driving the other day and the temp sky rockets out of no where and m heat goes dead cold.....pull the car over and pop the hood....overflow tank is full.....start it up and drive it the rest of the way to work with no problem. but now every day(last 4 days) it runs for 5 minutes then heats up and i loose heat.....i let off the gas and the temp drops and it will run 20-25 minutes before i need to let off the gas to cool it down a bit.........everyone i talk to says its the lim and possibly the head gasket......agree or disagree?
also would it be both or just the intake gaskets?
i ask this because i think i could handle replacing them but dont want to tackle the job if it requires the head gasket to be replaced. btw the car has about 100000miles on it.
