• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What did you do to your Car today?

Found out how much HP my car really has

I don't know where it got that 1/8 mile time

Haha both of those are wrong. Idk how it would know hp at all, just judging throttle position and acceleration? It's all about gearing really, my car may act like it has 270 hp from 0-15 but not after that lol.

hmm I thought I did but it still asked to setup a profile for some reason. I already put in all the info and hit save, guess that wasn't good enough.

Edit: it did save, weight is in kg not lbs lol. Fixed, will have to try again

Nothing to the Prix. I did take my mom's car to my uncle's place so I had a garage to work in. I pulled the struts and compressed them to get the springs out then put the springs on some new struts and put the new strut mounts on it. Put that back on then I changed both tie rod ends. Tightened everything up and came home for the night. I'm going back over tomorrow to change the control arms. The whole front end will be brand new then.

next time you dont have a filter wrench, take a chisel to the top part, and hammer it off. the part your thumb is on.

if you crushed it with a filter wrench in the first place you always set the band at the highest part of the filter, its the only solid part to grip on to. again where your thumb is.

lmao! i did the good old screw driver stabbed through it trick once.....once it dont work, just tears the filter body. and makes a huge mess too.

if you dont have a filter wrench its best to chisel and hammer the upper hard ring, it will come right off. in the right direction too.

He had one of the hat kind that go on the bottom but it kept stripping cuz the filter was dented. I have this kind for stubborn filters haven't had to use it yet.

Yep "hand tight" means different things to different folks. Depends on the hand. I sure like my pliers-type filter wrench, kinda like Scotty's.

I haven't done anything to my GTP since the trans swap. Running pretty good. I did get a check from Shelter this week to cover my back bumper repair from the close encounter with a dump truck. They gave me over six bills. Folks, thats why it pays to keep the paint looking fresh even if it takes some work. I got $600 to fix a bumper that has spray-painted over clearcoat fade on top. Wicked!

Sent my latest project to the upholstery shop yesterday... on to the next. 41 Ford done, on to a 68 Camino.

These filter wrenches are awesome when using a filter cap, filter pliers, and the screwdriver trick fail.
