Well I think i need another alignment. Noticed if I set the wheel straight the car goes left. Stupid POS dirt roads
Going with Belle Tire this time, that Dealership was full of idiots.

I think I figured out my seat reclining problem. I think it is just a weak spring on both of my seats. I guess it's a common thing with the 04-08 seats. I also tore my head unit apart to add a CPU cooler. Apparently it's acceptable to run a dual core 1.2 GHZ CPU with NO cooling at all...not. I thermal epoxied an old heat sink I had laying around on it, spaced of the motherboard a bit (CPU is mounted underneath), and slapped it back together. It seems to boot a lot faster, the fan on the rear of the unit is barely on anymore (temp controlled), and it seems more responsive. That could be the 50 bad solder joints I fixed though.

Belle tire is probably the reason for the misalignment lol. I've driven out of there with it as bad as when I went in. They blamed it on radial pull... All we did was replace tie rod ends and struts. Before that it was perfect
 
No i was going to go to belle tire, the dealer couldn't grasp the idea of the wheel straight car go straight concept blamed the road incline.

whats that whole head unit worth with all you've added to it? I know it will fit my regal.....and its so damn cool.

The head unit itself was $300 to my door, then the OBD2 USB adapter was $30, but I have a spare I can send you. They have better head units out now, but I'm not too sure of the model number and such. I have the AN-21 U. Keep in mind, you'll be playing with Android quite a bit until you get it just right. My biggest complaint with it is boot time, but this heatsink might have helped it. It's still about 30 seconds before you hear music after you start the car, unless you are listening to the radio. I listen to MP3's and FLAC through Poweramp (An Android app) so I have to wait for Android to boot (like a cell phone) and the app to open.
 
It does everything Android can do, with built in GPS, Wifi, Tuner, IR receiver, built in 8 GB, 2 USB ports, and an SD card slot. It's got video input\output along with a reverse camera input (Reverse camera is $13). It'll automatically switch over to the reverse camera when you shift into reverse (with an option to mute or unmute audio). It has an amplifier built in, but I can't say how the quality is. I'm always watching the head unit's thread over at XDA, and there aren't any real complaints about it. It's got a built in EQ, but I've rooted Android with Viper installed so it has a 10 or 12 band parametric EQ, I don't remember. Oh yea, I used an SWI-X for the steering wheel controls. It basically turns the steering wheel controls into an IR remote, so I routed the IR emitter wire from the SWI-X up to the side of the head unit behind the dash. I was able to work my old kinks out so I no longer have a USB IR receiver, I use the internal one now (thank god, that was *****).
 


On this head unit? I don't actually know. Android has the capability, but I don't know if this thing utilizes that feature. In the "extra settings" menu in Android is an option to vary the fan speed based on temperature, so I wouldn't be surprised if it did. It would be nice to disable that feature though. I'm kinda interested in trying to overclock it a little now that I have it cooled better, but none of the apps I have worked int he past.

The "extra settings" menu is all stuff for the head unit, reprogramming the hard buttons on the head unit, shut down delay, radio regions, things like that. So far they have Android 4.1.1, they have a few versions that say they are 4.2.2, but they are fake. You can make Android say whatever version you want by editing the build.prop file. I could make a version that 86.7.5.309 if I wanted.
 
On the head unit yeah, thought that might be why you saw shorter boot times. But i would think it wouldn't throttle till it got an extreme temperature like desktop CPUs do.

It'd have to be something hardware based, not Android since Android isn't running at the time. That wouldn't unheard of though, since everything (including Android) is run through the MCU.
 
I forgot about Android not running at the time. Kinda funny it didn't have a heatsink on it. Again me not being familiar with Android are you able to monitor core temps? I would assume so because I think I could when I rooted my HTC Thunderturd (Thunderbolt).

I'm sure I could, just not anything I've looked into. It's a Cortex A9 CPU, so it's relatively mainstream. I've kinda based how loud the fan is on temperature. It's pretty loud at full blast. Even without the heat sink it RARELY kicked in full, I had to force 100% (in the extra settings menu) to hear it. I doubt it'll ever get to that point with the heat sink installed.

I'm thinking the overclocking thing is similar to the old style of overclocking, when the BIOS needed to support it. The MCU would the BIOS in this case, so when Android attempts the overclock the MCU won't change the settings.
 
Moved it to the back yard due to a garage sale. It's in good company though. Parked next to the brother in laws Regal.

Started her up....found I have a miss in it...think it is ignition....will find out next weekend....however did light the tires up just barely giving it some gas
