What did you do to your Car today?

Well got to get to tare into the car today and get a better look and get some estimates... Turns our the lower part of the passenger side of the car crumbled so it caused the engine to shift an inch to the left.. Long story short the car CAN be fixed but it's not practical, it will never be the same again

Unless .. Maybe a frame puller can get it back to spec but I don't know much about those

Yea F that it will never drive the same hate to say it, I'll see how much insurance is going to give you then maybe buy back for real cheap and pull the parts you want and buy the one Bills selling. Or pull the things like the radio assuming it's aftermarket, swapping the rims etc.

booooooo, no top swap needed lol
I know bummer right? I was all prepared/redding to yoink the LIM by myself and the tap worked really well. Still didn't flush the coolant, im just going to pull the lower rad hose empty and flush it. Refill with coolant and do that a few times, f the tstat housing I almost dropped a bolt in the LIM so I put the tstat back in for saftey after I dropped and lost the other good bolt for 30min.

Yea I'm working on that now, wont be long till I get the cash, still I'm depressed as hell. I really loved this car :/

Right now I'm in the process of stripping it down, rims, radio, subs etc

How much is the one bills selling btw miles, etc?

I thought there was a price somewhere, remember someone saying "surprised it didn't sell yet at that price"

Hmm no guess not. Make an offer lol

Kylezilla, two words just in case: Anti-seize. OK two more- Bimetal Corrosion. Last person who had your tstat housing off didn't use any on the threads. Its necessary anywhere unlike metals meet, as in steel bolt in aluminum intake. Rips the threads when you take the bolt out. Taps are indeed the shiz. I even chase all the ancient threads on a fresh painted car body. When I was about your age I gorrilla-ed a carb stud on my Malibu. My Dad drilled the stud out perfect and the threads came out wrapped around the bit like a spring. That took a steady hand, but the intake was iron.

Bills97- your wrecked white car can absolutely be repaired to original specs with the proper equipment and a trained technician. But its probably not worth it. I did that for many years using different frame racks and measuring systems. Heck I fixed one car so new it hadn't been sold yet, and i had to cut so much metal out of that one that you could walk up to the steering wheel from behind the car, pretty much. Anything metal can be fixed. Three dimensional computerized measuring equipment assists the tech in aligning the vehicle structure, and good training and technique assures fully restored corrosion resistance and performance in subsequent impacts. Your car isn't hurt too bad but the airbag plus the bolt on parts needed makes it most feasible to just replace the whole car. You can bet if that GP was two years old with 40K miles it would be repaired and the insurance man would put you right back on the road in it inside a week or two.

Ehh I might keep it and fix it although I know it isn't practical, but I think I might make it my project. Like when I'm bored I can go outside and turn some bolts.. Right now I'm in a position to get a new car and keep this one without taking any losses money wise..

My insurance is taking care of the other guy and I'm getting 3500 from my cousin since my insurance doesn't want to cover my car... so my real issue now is what to buy next lol

I've had the Impy for a month now. It got it's weekly bath and full tank of gas. I've put just under 1,100 miles on it.

I've been really good about filling it up when it gets to half. And while it seems like I'm filling up once a week instead of 2 weeks, it seems better. I don't know.

dont you have that gas app? you can look at the months before the new car and compare no?

Yes I do have it. And no i haven't compared, lol.

Quickly looking at the 2....monthly cost on the SS is $192 and the GP was $150. So really, it's not that much more when it's broken down long term.

Not really. Every fill up I dread that its that .30 more than regular....but when you do the math, it's really pretty minimal.
I'm struggling to find 91 around me, so it's been getting 93.
