What did you do to your Car today?

Coulda sworn the car felt off but chalked it up to just parking on an uneven surface... until today. Yeah, back right strut isn't long for this world... it's noticeably lower than the back left. Time for some struts

That looks awesome Brian! Nice work!

The truck that is mine at work, we just had it interior detailed so its all clean and smoke free from previous driver. Well, people have been driving it a lot these past few days and they are all smokers. I made sure my point was known, no smoking in it or I stop giving my keys out. It's my truck, company policy is no smoking in the trucks anyways. Even tho no one listens to that rule. If I'm going to be driving it for the time being, no one is to be smoking in it. End of story. Pretty sure most of them thought I was being a b!tch about it today, but oh well. You can't abide by the rules and my requests, take the crappy shop truck with no brakes and leave my truck alone. The GM agreed with me, so if anyone has a problem they can take it up with me.

I don't care if people smoke, more power to ya. I just think it's rude to smoke in a vehicle that isn't yours.

Ok, off my soap box.

But seriously, good job Brian. Now...imagine that with about 1/4 of the elbow grease when you get the PC :th_thumbsup-wink:
What pad's did you end up going with? Sorry I never got back with you on that.

No problem on not getting back to me. The advice you gave helped as it was.

As for the pads AutoGeek has 5 set up so I assume those are the recommended ones to get started. It was a yellow, a orange, a pink, and two whites. The kits also came with 2 red soft wax pads, as well as the regular polishing pad that comes with the polisher anyway.

Those will be enough to get me started and hopefully I can keep them clean and not shred any to get a few jobs done.

Did I mention that I did that with nothing more than cheap Turtle Wax brand products? I'll end up getting some Meguir's or something for my own cars, but no use in spending big bucks on a work truck. Hopefully I will be able to get the rest of the stubborn scratches out when I get the PC. According to tracking it should be here Thursday.

A few orange and a few white are the main pads you'll ever really use. Yellow well that's for serious oxidation..very little chance you'll be doing a car that's that far gone. Pink one I'm assume it's probably similar to what the red ones are for applying wax or sealant

Got the truck back together no more open header...didn't really like driving car around untuned after cam install made me nervous

Yeah those are the pacesetters painted and with the cost of y pipe would have been more then the stainless sd headers that appear to be a pacesetter copy that I grabbed off eBay...after doing some more readin people with 4wd like myself have had issues with almost every lt header so I may just junk the whole idea

Custom Y-pipe setup to go under the tranny pan by the cross member. Or remove front driveshaft.
Could always run shortys for some flow

Shorty's do nothing for the Ls based engines. Just look different.

Yeah y pipe wasnt hitting driveshaft primary was...and both headers where up against frame...for now stock mani's and headers are staying in a pile in the corner

First kill in Slowkar today. Raced a Slowcus on my way home from work. Pulled up next to me at a stop sign then we were off. I pulled on him till 70 and put a few car lengths on him then I stayed at 70 then he caught back up then i punched it again on it up to 100 and he was few car lengths or more back. I coasted back down to grandpa 55 and he flew by me. He wanted to keep going but I wasn't going to risk it because we were going from open farm land into trees and im not tagging a deer. Either he wasn't trying or my GT is actually faster than s Slowcus.

You should be able to beat a fucus. My manager claimed he gained 20hp by cleaning his air filter.. He's still running high 17's now.
