nice and black like mine was inside. thats from not changing the oil when your supposed to. past owners suck, cause that dont happen over night.
 
Yea I have had it for the last year and a half and changed the oil 4 time's now in the last 3k miles haha.

this is the second time i had the back vc off, the rockers used to be black as night, but regular oil changes have cleaned them up a lot so far.

so keep the oil changes up. it does help clean the inside over time.
 
Did absolutely nothing today.. And it looks like I'll be doing nothing for a while now too.. I woke up this morning in extreme back pain and went to the hospital and learned I may need back surgery.. I'm waiting to hear more. I'm too young for this ****.

Russosaurus-I would not have thought white would work visually at all but I must say it sorta ties in your nice clean looking coolant and brake fluid reservoirs. I'll be danged. I would have went silver but meh, your car my car. Def woulda taped the bushings though lol. Them stickers got you up there into stock GTP terrirory I better run hide! :th_nanana:
 
Did the oil change and cleaned the throttle body/iac on the impala. Also diagnosed a bad tensioner pulley which I originally thought was the trans pump (before getting under the hood) since we got issues with it right when it started.

I got a video of the noise, sounds kinda like a pump whine in person. through the stethoscope it's definitely the pulley bearings.

I think I'm gonna use the pureone's from now on, seems to be the best for the money. I always fill them with oil first. Hard to see but it's almost up to the threads. And yeah I spread the oil all around the gasket before installing. Took the old one off by hand, the new one went on by hand. How it should be.

Not sure these magnetic drain bolts really do anything positive, but for $4 it can't hurt.

Forgot ... all I did to my car today was take pics of clean strut towers and rockers on the wrecked ones. Super Betty got the usual 40 mile stop and go flog. Looked her over Sunday and she needs front hubs, pads, rotors to start. My stock welded up sway bar still hasn't broken yet. I did pull an ounce or two of excess power steering fluid out, boy that needs to be drained and refilled! Also dumped an excess quart or two of coolant in the tank, been there since I bought the car. Actually have 3 days on it since last wash job. Amazing.
 


I've done oil changes on a few cars at work with magnetic drain bolts, there's usually just tiny little flakes here and there. I guess if you see a lot one time you know something's up.

You might as well call me capn crunch haha. And my backs been messed up for a while now. The lower part of my spine is twisted to the right so it puts extreme tension on the muscles and what not in my upper left back. It's been bugging me more than usual the past few days and this morning I could hardly move. From what I've heard I may have torn something again.
 
Waste of time?

It's not needed really. The 1-3 real time seconds there is no real oil pressure over 5-10 psi does zero harm to an engine. There is still oil protecting every bearing and part that inside the motor, so for those very few seconds they don't need extra oiling.

On a diesel it's different, if you don't prime the filter it can build up huge pressure and blow the filter right off.
