• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Being I've only worked there for a couple months or so I don't want to be asking for a ton right now... Especially just being a Porter haha

Test drive others peoples s**t hell yeas. I have a buddy that does that at the local ford dealerships gets to drive all kind of crazy s**t he"ll never be able to afford lol

Matter of fact i did and sorry left u hangin on it. Couldn't decide if cam or no, too cold. But you know a wiped cam sounds lopey just like a wild bumpstick. Vac gauge? Fresh zinc-ey oil? She needs just enough fixin to get some warm run time and blow out the cobs so to speak. I say put an exhaust gasket on first to make it bearable then go from there. Run it long enough to heat the intake good then check er out again. The 455 I run sat for 15 years and does fine but within 2 weeks of being put back into service, a lifter stuck. Shot of MMO in the oil freed it right up, been happy ever since. BTW I used SensaTrac quick struts and never noticed a ride height change although rears do have small sag. Scroll back to my last pic of it (painted barkes couple weeks back) and compare if u want.

Yeah it might need some tuning, I put the screws back where they were from 23 years ago. I just got a vacuum gauge for the occasion. Hopefully a lifter doesn't get stuck, I'm changing the oil next week. That exhaust manifold gasket can't be done unless the motor gets dropped down unfortunately. I'll take a look at the pics.

Any tips for replacing rear struts guys? I'll be doing Austons on Thursday. We went the easy route and just got the Gabriel ready mounts from AZ. Is it just as simple as it looks?

I haven't any done rears yet Cap'n.

Blue, here it ain't cool to make you dig ... this ain't on a level area and yeah now that I look at it you could throw a fullgrown fat cat through that gap lol

Wow that's just like mine. If it bothered me I would have swapped the stock springs into the new strut but I don't care, with all the steep driveways and horrible roads here I've got less to worry about now. I hated scraping on driveways

ratchet gear wrenches. socket and ratchet wont fit. box or open end wrench could suck big time. where the gear wrench will make it easy to work on.

I feel like I'm too young to get that reference lol. My boss and his buddies are making references to old tv shows and they always say, you don't get that do you? I'm like nope.

And yeah my rears are sitting in the garage

Sway bar links are hanging on the struts, hard to see.
Edit: There they are

nom nom nom fresh rears oooooo u gonna like dat!

That was the Sheriff in a movie (a classic based on a true story) called "Walking Tall" if you can catch onta that ... also all the cop cars in the movie had cop susp and sat high in front, if the title reference is not enough. I forgot you said 2.5 years of driving, I began in 1980 yikes. You're doing mighty good with the car skills, man.

Yeah old movies too. I'm pretty sure I've worked on cars every single day for the past 30 days at least lol. Not kidding, weekends too. Helps since that's my job but still. I do electrical stuff on the side (well used to when I had time) so this lighting was a breeze and kinda fun.
