What did you do to your Car today?

I wouldn't expect that from you mang.

In other news I drove my car. It was okay.

I do stupid stuff like this sometimes. New tails are on the way.

I'd get the car painted but the MG needs a lot of little things for it to be in good mechanical shape that's suckling my money right now.

My tails already look flat. They were cleared. Scotty didn't you say something about compounding and waxing your tails to get them to shine?

wet sand with like 1200, then buff with compound to a shine. by hand works well, its just takes a bunch of elbow grease. da buffer will make short work of it tho.

She looks so sad without fogs

Thanks. I just need to go get some 1200 grit paper. I picked up some 400 grit wet paper today to try to further polish out the snouts.

Yeah, I don't plan on getting sandpaper til tomorrow. My uncle may actually have some. I said something about wet sanding them and everyone seemed to think it would remove to much coating. I was a little confused as to how wet sanding would remove a coat of clear and 2 coats of VHT. LOL

I need to pick up some compound too. Might run to Advance after Easter dinner.

i did like 5 coats of clear, you can see the orange peal after it drys, wet sanding makes it all nice and smooth, then buffing takes all the scratches out and makes it shine.

you would have to sand it for days to cut through the clear coat with 1200 lol

That's what I said. I was planning on using 2000 grit and my cousin and uncle were both like, you'll end up back down to the lens pretty quick. I was like huh?

I haven't decided if I want to tint the reverse bar yet. My only issue is I have a hard enough time seeing to back up because of the tinted windows. LOL

tape off where the bulbs are, that way you have a light window.

maybe one coat over the whole bar, then tape off the bulb area, then another coat or two.

all's i know is there was no way i was loosing my back up lights, so i masked mine off, took the tape off when the tint was still wet, then cleared it all over.

this is 2 coats of tint, and 5 coats of clear, just drying, looks dark.

after wet sanding and buffing it definatly gets lighter looking as the haze of the clear is cut off.

looks much lighter dont it? mine are funny, look darker in the shade or night, and almost cherryish in direct sun.

If u tint it right u don't have to worry about output being effected.

Opps but i forgot you guys are gay lovers for vht nightshade

On a black car the red taillights stick out like a sore thumb. They are much more muted now. I still need to do my third brake light. Was going to do it today but I was afraid of stripping the screw heads so I probably need to remove the spoiler to get it off. I need to get my GXP spoiler on anyway.

i think i just found my fog lights, maybe a new climate control too if the price is right, as its lit up in the pics. http://newjersey.craigslist.org/ptd/4411550035.html

poor car is in some awful rough shape.

this is the same yard i got my maf from. they are the most reasonable JY in lovely sunny Newark NJ ill have to call and see what they are priced at. this place pulls the parts for you. so its all pre priced in a PC at the front counter.
