What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

I get about 25 miles for each 1/16th mark on the fuel gauge...
QUOTE]

I have found the fuel gauge unrealistic. Seems like the first "gauge" 1/2 tank is closer to 5/8ths. I reset trip meter at every fill and have never matched actual mileage from first 1/2 to second 1/2 tank. I can get over 200 from first, 150 or less from second.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Yesterday we replaced the hood and trunk lid with ones I picked up from the local u pull. Brought the 98 silvermist metallic GTP home last night. Took it in to have a keyless entry/remote start system installed. Once installation was complete, picked the car up and parked it back at work. I've got the replacement front bumper cover. All the replacement parts are from a 01 galaxy silver metallic GT. There is a little color and flake difference but I'm ok with it.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

It's a 17 gallon tank.

I could have sworn it was 15 gallons... but either way I'm getting much better mileage than before.

I've noticed that too, I'm guessing it's because the pivot point for the float isn't exactly at the 1/2 tank level.

Oops, I did it again.

03 limited with 149k and no rust. Fixing all the knickknacks and then I have 1.9 roller rockers, intercooler, prj's, and a 3.2 press on pulley that I'll throw on and send it.

This makes what, 8 grand prix's now? Plus countless Buicks and Olds cars. I have a 3800 problem.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Just saw some one took the hood off my old car at the you pull. Mine was a 01 SE though. That would be a ridiculous coincidence.

Got inlays for the front plate. Turned out pretty nice

Gas light just came on. 463.6 miles since the last fill up. Woot woot.
How the heck did you pull that off?

463.6 miles = 746.09 km. The best I've ever gotten was 367 miles/590km, and I had to drive like a granny to make that happen. LOL

Like, 2k rpm shifts and 65 on the highway lol. Nice warm weather with no ac, windows cracked for minimal drag.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

I broked it again...

lost the top bolt holding the anchor plate to the knuckle, so...

...I guess you could call it power-braking.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

My buddy had his '01 GTP sold out from under him by his G'ma. She sold it for $100. Ouch. All it needed was to put a window back on its track, a new window motor and either a TPS or IAC. It was in pretty good condition.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Damnnn. G'ma is cut throat. What was buddy doing that she got mad like that? Slackin' off? Not helpin out? Partying too much I bet!

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Blue loctite was NOT the answer, apparently.

Changed out my 4 year old rotors a couple ago for the 06+imp calipers/rotors.
I thought it was going to be a btch with the brackets because I used red loctite.

Turns out I used anti-seize. Apparently I didn't use the pussie setting on my ratchets.
I used red this time.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

I used red after my first caliper bracket bolt came out. I never had another problem after that.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

never had a caliper bolt come out, i do tent to ape the bracket bolts some tho.
