Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0
Did oil change, spark plugs, coolant flush, and a few other small things on my buddies 06 Kia Optima, thing hasn't run in over a year and all we did was charge the old battery and it fired up no problem.
At least it's dependable. lol
It needs the trans serviced, but I still haven't found the spin-on filter location... I haven't googled it yet, but one would think it would be at least visible and identifiable from the engine compartment. Plus the pan is literally on the front on the trans, not the bottom. The fluid isn't burnt smelling, and it's not terribly dirty, but it's got 120k and it hasn't been touched
Import cars are weird.
Then I got back to the company building and our supply NCO's 07 Impala had overheated that morning, turns out the inner t-stat gasket had folded in on itself and was holding the t-stat closed. That thing is such a pain in the ass to get to... But she was overjoyed that I fixed her car in less than 30 minutes, and it only cost ~$30 for the bottle of coolant and the new t-stat, vs $100+ for a shop to do it.
I'm still on the fence as to whether I like being the "company mechanic"
