What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

I'm 100 miles away...

I got a nice, pretty sunburst in there for y'all, too. It's almost majestic...

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Ha!... I still need to get a good pic of the car with the northern lights in the background. That'll be this winter, most likely. Hopefully.

Then this car will be cool. Lol

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Installed a bunch of junk yard parts. 04+ seats and a strut tower brace off a monte carlo. Also replaced front sway bar links and put LED's in the cluster. LCA's will be done in a week or two.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Replaced my missing subframe bolt and retainer, and installed some "anti-pogo washers"...

Only thing it cost was a few hours of my time, and wet boots. :p

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Found out why my car has been making that wah wah wah sound like chopped or unbalanced tires...cords are starting to show on 3 tires and have large bumps in them like the belt is going. My grandmother kept all service records, so as far as I know, the last alignment was done in 2008, as well as the current set of tires installed in 2008, 30k miles ago. I'd post a pic but it never let's me upload one.

10 year old tires will almost always be trouble.

Don't upload to the forum. Use a photo sharing site like photobucket or imgur and upload there then use the img tags and post the pic that way.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Saw this in the JY as I was digging for a new subframe bolt and some retainers...

No idea what it's history is, but it looks mostly complete and has a V8. Looked like a 350 under all the grime and spider webs... Could be kinda fun.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Spider webs?
You got spiders in the frozen tundra?!
You sure those aren't crab webs cuz crabs look like giant spiders!!!

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Replaced my flickering cluster LED's. The signals went back to bulbs as I'm tired if the back-lighting. Get the dash back together and another bulb is flickering. FAWK! Good thing I have the two new signal LED's I can use. Also polished the Magnaflow tips back to a mighty shine.

There's definitely spiders, but they're easy to squish. Thankfully there aren't any snakes way up here, but I guess it's kinda like a trade-off.
And I'd like to see a crab that can survive a -50 F winter. lol

But I did some looking, it's a 4th gen Buick Century with what I'm guessing is either a Pontiac 265 V8, 301 V8, or a Chevy 305. Apparently these also had the Olds 350 diesel as an option, along with a turbo 3.8L Buick V6.

It's so tempting to JY rescue this, just because it's so complete. It even has door glass. lol

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Speaking of flickering LEDs, my passenger mirror puddle strip lights are flickering now. Re did the driver's side last year already when they flickered.

My car is becoming the one everyone jumps in when we need to get somewhere fast... I don't think they realize it's actually really slow. Lol.

I'm guessing it's just that I'm the only one willing to throw their car around a corner at 35. ;)

Dig the wonky '79 4-4-2-

I would not want that visual abomination (possibly the homliest bodystyle ever) but I could sure tell you what brand the mill is at a glance. Pontiac has air under the intake, Buick has the distributor up front, Olds has a sharply curved coolant pipe from intake to water pump, Chevy has none of the above.

My GP might be a little slower now, I've been using rabbits on a treadmill under the hood for awhile now and today one escaped -

I think it wants to race, lol. Kid from work with the Acura ate GTP dust today, which I enjoyed. We got on the highway and stood on 'em and he never gained on me. Sometimes he does though. At the stop light I got "How many miles on that thing?". 244K+. Then the stream of ricer excuses flowed forth.
