What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

That's on highs so I can sorta get the Hotspot where I want it, I liked them but either it was because the bulbs were older or what but I felt the visibility in the rain lacking. Hopefully once these break in they'll do decent.

The yellower the light the better in the rain. I find my 5k bulbs in the projectors to be as good as it can get, without getting a yellow/amber light involved.

Picked up my Black Friday order last night.....

Going to replace the HID reverse lights, and change out the current Putco interior LED's.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Installed led headlights, both high and low. Had to modify the header panel a little to clear the low beam bulb. Also installed led lights in the interior.

I still need to install the vanity mirror bulbs, but I might have to make a slight modification to get them to fit.

When I was installing the map lights I somehow managed to break the switch for the passenger map light. I don't know if I accidentally pried against the switch when I was pulling the lens.

Anyone know where I can get just the switch or do you think I'm going to have to buy a dome lights assembly to get just the switch?

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

I cleared another 3 inches of snow off of it... I think we're up to 16 inches so far, but it's all powder.

Kinda wish I still had a board, but sh1t happens.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Finally went and returned the incorrect wheel bearings and got the right ones. $308 later. Probably install them next weekend. Did an oil change on the GP today. Do the Chrysler tomorrow. I love having a garage when it's 30 out with 20mph winds.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

I realized another issue the LED headlights seem to have caused. I have radio static on stations I never seemed to have it on before, and other stations I have saved that are weaker (further away) are almost complete static.

I guess I am going to have to get me an antenna noise isolator and may put a power noise isolator in too, unless someone has another suggestion.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Even though it was December 3rd in Michigan, I was still able to power wash the driveway and do the leaves. The high was 42, good thing because they were still falling.

Anyway on to car stuff. Put the inner wheel wells back on the 06 after por-15 went on the quarters. Rotated the tires on both gp's and washed both. Realized I didn't get the 02 completely clean at the quarter car wash...

After months I'm back driving the 06, still need to do a couple more things to it that are out of my expertise. Paintless dent repair, tint stuff, fixing a rim leak. Yeah you can see why I procrastinated and just drove the 02 for a while. Gotta find a good paintless dent repair place first.

I assume they were direct plug ins? No other adapters or harness installed? You might try an anti-flicker harness for each light. Or , I believe a resistor on each light may help (I don't know a lot of this method)

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

I checked them out. The low beam bulbs came with something that looks like that device. I might do some experimentation to see if it is just the high beam bulbs causing the interference.

The funny thing is, both bulbs are from the same manufacturer. I wonder if the lows are the "new generation" and the highs are a previous one?

I'll post back when I figure it out in case it may help anyone else.

Put the other ballast and bulb in today. Bench tested for Hotspot location before I installed. Sorta ghetto but it worked lol.

The sun finally stayed around for a while. Good thing as we might see a little snow over the next few days. Got the snow tires on.....

I also removed the front "bra", swapped the front rotors and replaced a torn left rear caliper bolt booty. I was going to replace the left front ABS plug, but the Pico once I got is to small.

Low beams tend to cause more grief when installed than high beams (on all types of vehicles), for whatever reason. Could be both of course too.

Yeah. I'm going to do troubleshooting to narrow down the problem area. Your knowledge is appreciated.
