What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Did both of my rear wheel bearing hub assemblies. And man... what an enormous pain in the ass. Much worse than the fronts. The passenger side unit wouldn't even come out until well over a half an hour of going at it with a hammer from different angles. And working with the parking brake assembly requires a second set of hands.

Still, I did it. And it fixed my problem!

Yesterday I installed a mint, paint-matching spoiler that I pulled from a yard for $35. The prior unit had long, long since seen its clear coat vanish.

Maybe torque management is pulling the TB blade closed some right at and after the shift, then it re-opens all the way to where you foot wants it and that's why you feel it.

Oh whoops I put it in the video description but not here, but yeah I figured it was the throttle opening more or the bypass solenoid. Strange it does it under moderate throttle like that. That's one nice thing about the earlier generation is less electronics. Things like that bug me.

I called it on my way home lol

Video was last week, code was confirmed today. Could have been a pending code before today.

Bought a MiniMask with the intention of covering up some of the rock chips I have on the hood. Of course the mask doesn't cover THE ONE large chip that I really wanted to cover.

Just wash under it alot, dust and dirt will act like sand paper as the wind moves that thing around.
I know that. I had a black car with the hood mask and it left a line on the hood. Luckily silver is more forgiving. I'm still not sure if I even like it.

came across this thread over on rgs, maybe the best way to fix up rock chips. http://www.regalgs.org/topic/59756-99-ultraagain/
I like.

I have a roll of Husky shield in my stash of parts. I was going to put some on the LED lights I'm working on, to get a feel for it. If that works, I might try and put some of that down on the hood.

Put my abs module back after rebuild, cured some of the issues, not all unfortunately. But I also installed the new window regulator. Works like a charm. At least one bright spot in the day :th_thumb-up:

Waiting for more car parts. Probably going to do the steering shaft on my truck between coats on the travel trailer's wheels. Already sanded it down and primed

Put leds all over the car. I bought 20 of the t10 size on eBay for like 6 bucks. Super happy with them so far

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Finally found the source of a very annoying rattle/clunk coming from the rear of the car. Driver's side track bar loosened slightly after an alignment a few weeks ago.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

My friend Josh who builds police cars and installs leds for work said they're actually pretty good quality. Not the best but definitely not the worst, but well see. Haha
I bought some of the "10 LEDS for $10" on e-bay. Each one barely lasted 3-4 weeks. I finally got tired of swapping them, got good ones from Diode Dynamics and 2 years later they are still working. Hopefully you got the new improved version of the el-cheapo's. LOL

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

you change the a/c belt under the engine? thats a fun one. if that belt ever breaks, its the compressor taking a dump. if you keep putting new belts on it the tensioner breaks.....band aids lol

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

I did both because the ac belt was bad as you can see in the pic. The ac tensioner seemed pretty soft. Didn't take much effort to move it so it might be going out but we haven't had any issues.
