patch job looks good.

is that paint or polished blower action? cant tell in the spot light lol im leaning towards sanded so far.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

I'm gonna smooth it out when its dry and use just a thin smear of high temp rtv on installation. I don't expect any issues with it.

That's cleaned up with the wire wheel, and hand brushed in the hard to get places. Not gonna polish or anything, just making it clean and using a high temp clear coat. I think blowers look best with a chrome or polished look, but that takes too much time. Paint can look good but can be easily ruined if brake clean or something gets on it.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Blue- now that you wire-wheeled, if you hit that pretty hard with a maroon Scotty Brite by hand you might get a nice look without needing paint. I like a shiny blower too, but hate the painted look. Maybe clear yeah. All you need is an even scuff now so it all blends together, then a good scrub to clean off all the residue. Then it might just look good if kept reasonably clean. Patch job yep ought to hold. Shows to go you did the right thing now. Spotting the plastic gaskets was just an opportunity to polish that huffer, tell the truth lol.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

I assumed if I scuffed it and left it, it would corrode half as bad by the time winter was over.

Nah when I saw the gaskets were plastic I was kinda pissed, I was in there to do elbows and then have a reliable 3800. It was one of those real early 06 model deals that got the plastic gaskets. Honestly if I didn't have to patch the lim and wait for it to cure, the blower would go back on as it came off lol. I'm not going for a real nice and super uniform look, just cleaned up. If I made it really nice I'd have to go and do the alternator and engine mount bracket, etc. I don't want to catch that bug lol

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Dam key won't turn on. Ripped whole center console and and steering column apart and still no clue. Maybe some lube spray . ..

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

You mean it wont turn to turn it on? If so pull down on your steering wheel while you turn. The steering wheel lock is stopping you from turning the key.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

been pm'ing with him, its frozen locked in the off position. wont turn either way. key comes out.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Just tried moving steering wheel. Still nothing. And sprayed with lube. Maybe it will help by morning but so far nothing
