Hate to break it to you but the polish on those pics isn't very good. The bottom one doesn't even have much for a mirror finish. I'll post up a few pics when I do Sam's whole car. When I did the fender alone, it had a really nice mirror finish.

I only did that by hand. I actually went back over it again with compound and polish once I got the PC. Also that pic was taken in the shade with a setting sun. There was plenty a mirror finish.

Somebody say mirror? I buffed this only once, a week after I shot it. Paint is like 12 years old in this pic.

White will never have that wow effect like a darker colored car. The gloss can be enhanced by polishing when it catches the light at the right angle. The finish looks much better than the top photo.

I love to fondle paint fresh from the booth while it still kinda has that paraffin layer on top and has never even been dusty. But yep, light colors are also more forgiving as far as revealing bodywork mistakes. Prep for black costs more if expected to look equally straight.

Today on my GT- we went over to the frame rack and attempted a quick smashed control arm mount fix with chains and hooks with no disassembly other than tire off. We got that wheel forward another 3/8" but theres another 1/2" left to go, to make wheelbase right. The tire doesn't rub now but next week I'll get the '02 frame hauled over there LCAs and all, and have buddies swap it for me during the week possibly. It still drives remarkably straight but we can do better. Just not with the quick fix.

In case you missed it, I made a rant thread today because after going to lunch with Mom I promptly got wrecked again in Fayetteville. No speaka de inglese or whatever, paper tag Ford so and so. Third lick on this car, I grow weary of this pattern. Money isn't the issue. Words like rage and panic fall short of verbalizing where I'm at. Cornered animal instincts is apt. You guys just keep the normal going so my stream of distractions stays active, lol. Please!

Washed it, and waxed it. Later realized the surface still isn't smooth and it needs to be clay barred. Oops lol. Used meguires wax instead of turtle wax. Meguires is easier to remove, but doesn't feel as smooth afterwards. Longevity is what I was looking for. Turtlewax only lasts a few washes.

Oh and since it's always either sunny, raining, too dark, or I don't have time. I went to the quarter car wash and just waxed my car in their well lit bay lol. They had 2 bays out of service so I didn't cause any trouble.

Looks good! I think I'm gonna try something similar to that, but rig up a hood switch.

Went and got some "trim pieces" off of a 01 40th. The guy had two, one crashed one in junkyard, and one that he was driving, only one had the roof rails. I asked if he still had the trim pieces on the grand prix, and if i could get them for 20$. Got em, 15$ in gas later though.

he had a black one with the hood and trunk lid still on it. if it was dark blue i would of gotten both, ive seen two special edition dark blues like mine. Alot of purple, light blue daytonas.

What the heck Matt. You need to stop getting into these wrecks. FWIW You can yank the subframe/control arms off a GP in 40 minutes. Repeat on the other car and presto, you'd be all set. If you need directions look at how to swap a trans by me and use the pieces to get the subframe off. Leave your other one hanging from a 4x4.

Now..dump that switch, get a hood pin switch and I give you bonus points if you put it on the RAP circuit. That way 15 min after the ignition is off, it would go off on it's own as well.
