What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

the ones for the trucks go bad from sitting in a pool of water.

its a fun job, a few hours will be used up for sure.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

I started watching a video on how to do it and I had to stop when he called the evap an egr twice. This was a video from A1 Auto btw. They didn't even do the recommended fix in the tech service bulletin either.

I've done an intake on an LS motor once, zero corrosion on any of the connections or sensors. My boss told me to check them though, since it's a common problem. I put a ton of dielectric grease on the electrical contacts and the little sealing part that goes over it. Idk how water gets in there lol
Easy job though.

I heard the difference on my home stereo so I never downloaded anything else, and I just copy music from my entertainment PC to a 64 GB USB drive for the car.

No benefits if the original was carved in vinyl! Or is there? Try Glenn Miller lol.

Installed one poly dogbone bushing. Just one, was a pain to get out and the car is not running anyways till Saturday when new fuel pump comes in. Kinda kills the excitement of a new part when you can't test it afterwards.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Yesterday I gave it a nice cleaning and put some VRP dressing on the interior panels. Checked all fluids and then loaded up the trunk with tools to go fix this girls car, a 96 Regal. Had an issue with the security system, so I did a temp fix with some resistors in the circuit to fool the security computer (long story short). She turned out to be much prettier than expected, so she took me out for a celebratory drink afterwards and made me dinner :) t'was a good day!

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

New pump in, running once again. Last thing I did before pump died was put new front header gasket to fix leak. Started car and was listening to see if the leak was still there, 2 minutes later pump died. So anyways, now I know THAT leak is fixed, but still have a small one at crossover...sheesh. About ready to weld crossover as it sits. Next time I take it off I'll just have to saw it off and throw these headers in the trash where they belong lol.

Walked out to start it... dead battery. Then I got in my SRT8 and went to work.

I chopped off the collector flanges on my 69 and welded those. Have not regretted it so far.

Scored JY stuffs today for my FWD GPs, got lucky on a front bumper cover and headlight brkts, and that cluster of sensors atop the dash. I have some polish and maybe paint work to do before installing, but its better than the two ripped bumpers I have on the black ones now. Today's find is black with light damage and fading but no ripped mounts and torn face like what they both have.
