I just got back from a 1.5 hour trip with my 1999 Pontiac Grand prix GTP. When I pulled into my drive way and parked i noticed that the shift indicator light (the one that shows if your in Drive, park, etc) was not lit up. I put it into park and then noticed that the thing was locked into park. So I shut off the car and tried to restart it. It restarted, my light was back on, but it stalled almost right away. I tried again only this time i put my foot into the gas a little bit and it fired right up and seems to be perfect again. Ive sinces shut it off and restarted it about 10 times and its fine.

Should I be worried? Does anyone know what could cause this???

Thanks.
Martin.

sounds weird. electrical? making it think there was something wrong so it locked it in park. but then everything is fine again. the only thing i dont get is why it would stall like that. just as confused as you.

Ya it's a cintrical backfire from the heads to your combustion. Don't worry about it. It will tend to happen rarely after 100,000 miles. :th_thumbsup-wink:
